914World.com _ Originality and History _ Tie rod ends

Posted by: rdauenhauer Nov 28 2006, 02:03 PM

Early to late the material and construction changed from a cast steel peice
to a bent steel bar with a section of threaded rod confused24.gif

When?

Is there a reason other than manufacturing cost?
this is posted here because the CW factor and becuase the likely response is
"dump them and go turbo anyway" chairfall.gif
This is for a 74 application

I would tend to believe that the bent steel rod is stringer than the cast piece. IDK if this has anything to do with the change though.
