914World.com _ Originality and History _ Front side marker light

Posted by: Pat Garvey Apr 3 2007, 08:27 PM

While positioning a jackstand under my 914, I inadvertantly hit the RS side marker light with my shoulder. Since the mounting pins are ancient, they broke & the assembly flopped out on the fender.

I was engrossed with other things & simply pulled it loose so I wouldn't do any paint damage. Now I'm not certain how the wires re-hook.

Have the last of my new ones (those damned pins are so flimsy), as pictured, but need some consoling as to the wiring hookup.

See the pic & tell me what you think.

Thanks - Pat

electrically it shouldn't matter.

I believe your caption is correct though.

Ground to the single spade on the upper right in your pic. Positive to other terminal which contacts the center contact on the bulb.

Thanks guys! Just needed to be certain - it's been years since I totally removed one of these. Looked straightforward, just needed my hand held!

Thanks again
Pat
