From my understanding, the black paint on some of the 4 bolt fuchs out there was dealer or after-market installed. Am i right that they all came with no black paint from the factory?

Correct, no paint from factory. Many owners painted them to highlight the "spokes". Also, the reproduction copies were painted.

Oh, if only the spokes had been solid! And black anodized in the centers!
