Here is one of mine. The screw drivers is incorrect. It is a 914-4 screwdriver as the 914-6 should be Red

Actually I don't see anything wrong with his reply. He is under no obligation to tell you what his reserve is.

You're right he's not. But he assumes that I know what they are going for....I don't. Revealing a reserve is no skin off his nose and gives me an idea of what the value is......

Keeping the reserve price under wraps is counter productive. They don't at Barrett-Jackson......

I'm no Concour Weenie.....far from it. How much are repro tool kits going for? The hell if I know....edumacate me....just because I've been into Porsche's all my adult life doesn't mean that I know what a tool kit goes for. Personally the only worthwhile tool IN the kit is the sparkplug wrench. The rest are crap. Don't EVEN get me started on the unsafe at any time of day jacks.

Stupid ass answers for stuff like that got me irked at the 356 crowd for the same reason. Attitude I don't need. Proper and correct....if I hear that term one more time I'll scream.....

I don't take shitass answers like that from salesmen or waiters.....why should I from some facelesss weenie on eBay?

Here is a 914-6 kit. Not sure if it is complete, but must be close. One sure difference from 911 would be the tow hook.

Seriously good luck on finding the kit. If someone does educate you on the prices, please post here. I am curious what real and repro kits sell for.

If I was to try to add something of value to this thread, I think I heard that with respect to the tools that Porsche provided in their kits, they were sourced from multiple vendors. So for a given tool (such as a wrench) you may find slight differences between different kits for the same car.

BTW, anyone know who owns or runs the p914.com site? Whois.com shows it has one of those anonymous registrant services....not typical of a 914 pirate....

I've seen kits like that with asking prices over $600.

It looks identical to the 914-6 kit above. Just add a tow hook.

Mike- I pieced my tool kit together & I spent around $550.00 doing it. This is a very reasonable price from what I've seen & I've never seen a 70 repro kit for either a 911 or a teener. Go back to ebay & type in "porsche tool" into the search engine. Arrange the search by "highest price 1st" & you'll get a good idea what the tool prices are going for. I have all the right tools, but as you can see the bag is a repro, the straight edge srewdriver is correct, but the wrong year, so the handle is a different shade of red & the P-208 fan lock is anodized black. It's funny cause the tools have a well used look & the bag is new. Also, according to Pat, the kits did not come w/ the Porsche towel but they do look nice.


PS- the kit you bid on just needs a tow hook to be a 914-6 kit. It's mostly complete. Can't tell if it's the right lug wrench or not though, because the skinny end is hidden. Also wondering about the hub cap puller & the fuse kit.

Thanks....am the only one that has a hard time justifying 600 clams + for a tool kit I'll never use, most likely will get stolen if I show it at a car show???

Hell my 70/6 is an original 6, w/ genuine Porsche fender flares added, but a non- numbers matching 2.7, a side shifter w/ a Quaffe, a 74 LE cinnamon interior & 944 rims. Almost all Porsche but hardly original. I figured I got close enough & spent too much to do it so no, you're not the only one who feels $600 bicers is highway robbery!

Your kit looks pretty much complete. But the shop towels were a "fad" thing in the mid 70's & were not part of of the toolkit.. The towels were so hot during the mid-70's that women made skirts of the for the daughters. Cute, but not part of the original six tool kit.

I had a partial kit from a '67 911S. It had a nice pair of pliers and a couple rusty wrenches. I sold it on eBay about a year ago for over $400. All he wanted was the nice pair of pliers.

I'm guessing a complete tool kit with all the tools in excellent condition for a 914/6 or early 911 would go well north of $1000 these days.
