Hey Guys - after buy an Aim SOLO unit, I put together a webpage with lots of info on data acquisition systems, books, analysis, etc. Check it out at http://www.trailbrake.net.
Also, a great cost effective way to get data in your teener is the Aim SOLO. You just suction cup it to the windshield and turn it on. It will work for autox too! Let me know if you are interested and I can direct you to a great source.

40 views and no one has a comment? Do you guys like it? Hate it? Don't understand any of it? Anything?
I liked it!! I think it will help people.
I'm a big fan of the cost/benefit of the AiM Solo unit, too. Glad to see they are making their way into people's hands.
Do you use the predictive lap timing?
On the race car I use the AiM XG Log, but I use many different ones at work. I use the heck out of the EVO4, varous Racelogic units and lots of others... we have a Smarty Cam, too.
For adding sensors the AiM gets finicky, so when we have to collect large amounts of data at a track, we usually have to go with our own data system, but it's not geared towards race track usage by any means.
I will probably switch my race car to the EVO4.
I use a Performance Box unit.

I couldn't see on the AIM site what the GPS sampling is on their unit. That's an important specification on how well the unit will perform overall.
edit:
I also have this book:

It's a fairly easy read and found it useful.
I just got a (used) G2X system and I'm hoping/planning to get it in my car within the next month or two. Interested in learning more about this stuff especially video+data overlay. Free time is just so limited these days...
