914World.com _ The Paddock _ Oil and Windage trays

I am about to put the engine together and after staring at the assembly for a while, it looks like more slots or holes in the windage tray would be a good idea to insure that the pump doesn't suck air.

Who has modified their trays for racing and what did you do?
Or would leaving out some of the gasket around the perimeter accomplish the same?

I don't often use them, but when I do, I drill holes directly under where the oil returning from the pushrods tubes will drop. These are the rectangular holes on the bottom side of the lifter bores.
