has anybody run them and how do they compare to the R888 proxes?
They most likely don't compare. They are slated as a "drift" tire, the toyos are an R compound track tire. I have never even heard of them but they may be more prevalent in your neck of the woods.
i never heard of them either, just found out they are a fraction of the cost of the toyos.
also found this: Federal 195/50ZR15 82W CORSA FZ-201 medium (utqg 60/A/A). more expensive. would that be similar to the proxes?
That looks more in line with the toyos but I would try to find some reviews or tire tests before I spent the money. Keep in mind that most R compound tires will crack in below freezing temperatures. I'm not sure what the climate is where you live but it may be something to consider.
