914World.com _ The Paddock _ looking for BBS info and tire size question

Posted by: Garold Shaffer May 26 2009, 11:11 PM

Moby came with BBS rims and 225-50-15 Hoosiers R6's. Now that it has 3.0L /6 added and I have afew AX under my belt I will be looking for more rubber under the fenders.

I know zero about BBS rims. Did some web search on them and found a few different threads on them, but trying to figure out just how wide a tire I can go?

The rims are all the same and are marked 68458 and 0275001.

Buying wider rims is not in the budget this year, but I could get wider rubber.

Garold,
Have you tried www.bbs-racing-wheels.com? There is some info
there on E30 centers (16 bolt) you might find useful. Good luck!

Garold, 2 things come to mind

1; you don't need to get different rims. The nice thing about 3-piece rims is that you can get different rim halves in order to change wheel size.

2; Tires are getting scarce in 15' sizes. The only race tire available from TireRack in 225 & 245 that match is the Hoosier R6s. Get em while you still can
