72 Principal Registrations
49 Friends / Family Registrations
121 Total Registrations
Registration confirmations with information packets were mailed Tuesday, May 25, which include maps and other information to help you prepare for and arrive at the 914 WCC 2004.
For anyone wanting to attend the 914 WCC 2004 and bring your RV, I am told by another 914 club member of these two RV parks, not far from the action:
A nice new park in Gilroy right off 101 called Garlic Farm Rv
http://www.thegarlicfarm.com/rvpark.html
and another nice one called Maple Leaf, south Morgan Hill on old Monterey Hwy
http://www.caohwy.com/m/maplearv.htm
Is anyone heading down from the northeast? What about sharing a room?

Gint:
If you see this.. I would like to test the "bulk email" feature in the classifieds again to see if we can successfully send out 1700 emails. I need for people to get on the stick about this sign up stuff.
B
Gonna try....need parts to finish Manfred....Hi Brad....
Not sure if I will make it
I fear a lot will depend on how I will be compensated for the wrecked taildragger...
cheers,
Jeroen
I'm going to be a late reg. Don't have answers on the g/f participation yet.
Southwest caravan anyone?
Chris in Vegas
I plan on being there +wife. I'm willing to lead a group of slow pokes around Monterey if needed. I'm going to kill some cones at the Autocross too. I need to get my car into HPH first.
Pat
I don't know if that flies in Dutch law JeffB, but it sounds good! I want to Jeroen and family there too.
I am working on how many in my party, probably 3- Geoff, Monique and Blair. Since Monique is still in Holland I havent got a firm yesorno out of her.
Geoff
I really wanna make it to the WCC, but right now, I just can't commit myself...
cheers,
Jeroen
S'ok Jeroen. Maybe next year, you and I can both make it.
Ok... enuf talk about who's NOT coming
Who's next to register???
C'mon guys/gals
cheers,
Jeroen
Let's go! I'd like to see a 2nd annual WCC become a "must attend" event due to this year's HUGE success.
You can count me in, +1. I will be driving the new V-8 car with any luck. Will be registering in a week or so. Once everytihng is set and I take delivery of the car. Will be driving up very early Friday morning. Not sure how long it takes to get up there from Orange County. I figure on leving here about 4 AM and driving straight through. I look forward to meeting everyone up there.
Only 10 days left to get your registration in.
Do it now, before it is to late.
The host hotel says that they only have 5 rooms left.
Just mailed my application and check
Richard
Hi Steve...You are in luck, Join the SoCal caravan.
So far...and I hope there will be more...

Just finished filling out the form. Will be writing check and mailing out tonight/tomorrow. Check's in the mail, promise.
Jen
I'll be sending my form, check, and some goodies tomorrow.
I'll have a form/check out shortly. Worst case it will turn into a donation, but if Jenny's going somebody has to go and keep her out of trouble!
sm
"...on the stick". i hear ya brad.
kevin
Check and Registration on the way.
Jeff..I sent you money via paypal...me and I wife will be there.
-Britain
Ok, I filled out the form and it in the envelope and stamped and going to the post office in the morning. I will pay via PayPal on Monday. That is about the time the envelope will arrive. Good timing huh? I am not sure when I am leaving at this point. I am open to run up with others going up from this area. We could meet somewhere in LA and cruise up from there. Just let me know what time and where. Otherwise, I will just leave on Friday about 3 AM.
What a great idea! Just paid by paypal as well. Please add me to the list! (+1)Registration form to follow either before or after pancakes.
Jen
I have just updated the list of Registrations found in the first post of this thread. Check it out...there are some great 914 owners who will be travelling long distances to the WCC. Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, Pacific Northwest, SoCal...914 emissaries from all over the USA.
This is exciting! Can we make it to 50 cars?
Well, it ain't quite the last minute, but it's close.
Just got back from posting my entry to Mr. Bowlsby. Me + 1.
kim.
Plane tickets are paid for. Working the registation now! See ya'll there! And you too Kim!
i plan on attending I also plan on paying, soon
If Brad doesn't pay in the next three days can we lock him out?
Check went in the mail yesterday.
sm
Jeff,
If its not a secret, when is the photo shoot planned?
Since I need to trailer my car and I want to use a different vehicle for the twisty, it would be helpful to know.
Richard
Well. I am not buying that V8 car I was going to buy. I saw pictures and it needs more work than my Chalon to be road worthy, so I am scrambling to get the Chalon together for the run. I called Rod Simpson today for a radiator kit and hoses but after 3 hours of busy signal, I finally got through and left a message. Hopefully he calls me back. That is about the last piece I need. He is closer to me and about 150 less than Renegade for what I need. Anyone in the So Cal orange county want to assist, I can supply the beer and food. I figure I can do it in 30 days. Lets find out. See you all there.
WOW! Take a look back at the first post in this topic.
We are up to 42 cars now! And more than 1/3 are from outside N. California. This is really great! I wouldn't be surprised to see 10 or 20 additional registrations in the next few days. If you are on the fence about coming, take a look at the attendance list. There is no question that this will be THE 914 event of the year!
Nice going Jeff!
Demick
Jeff,
You should have my registration and check by now. If I decide to bring someone to the drive, can I still add them after Friday?
Felix
Got it Felix, just arrived...many thanks. You are on the list in the continuously updated first post of this thread.
If you, or anyone wants to attend or bring additional family/friends if you have already registered, please let me know right away. Send in the Reg Form and payment and its a done deal.
Even though the registration deadline is tommorrow April 30, we may be able to accommodate a few more for a short time, but please contact me on an individual basis to be sure. We dont want to exclude anyone.
We have a lot of final details to resolve and coordinate in May and while I hope everyone that wants to attend can attend, we are limited by deadlines of the vendors and caterers, I hope everyone understands. Registration cannot happen at the door, so you will be turned away from certain events if you are not registered. Contact me directly if you have any questions at any time.
I have never seen as many 914s or 914 owners in one place at one time as this event is promising to deliver. Come join in the fun. Next year is a long ways away.
Jeff Bowlsby

jeff
count me among the pacific northleft contingent attending the wcc. i just sent payment via paypal, and i can send you the completed registration form as a .pdf to speed things up a bit.
~a
okay, i'm in!!
i paypaled you and sent you my registration via email, Jeff.
Me and my better half (the girlfriend, not the car) are looking foward to this!!
nathan
AHHHHHHHHH I thought I sent in my registration, but I never saw my name on the list. Cleaned my desk off today and here it is sitting in the envelpoe. Jeff, I am sending it out tomorrow, no reason it wont get to you by the 1st, sorry for the day late, but I swear it is coming!
-Chris
So did it top out at 51? That is all the people that are bringing cars? I tired to get some peple here to go but they are all too busy with other things to do. Oh well, its still going to be a great time and more 914's than I have ever seen together.
I've been trying to get ahold of Jeff to put me on the list.. but I havent yet...
Doris and I are in! Just sent the WCC money via Paypal and just mailed the reg forms....
whew....just under the wire!
See everyone there!
Bill and Doris Pickering
Everyone who has sent in a Registration Form and Payment is coming to the WCC 2004! A few more can still be accommodated so if you hurry I won't look at the postmark on your Reg Form envelope. You know who you are...
With the Registration Deadline at hand so many others have Registered that I need a few days to organize the list. If I don't respond to you within moments of your email to me...its because I am sequestered away trying to make sense of it all... I wouldn't be too surprised to see the list total around 60 cars and 100 people for this first WCC. WOW! WOW! WOW!
For those whose Registration is incomplete, meaning you have only sent in the Reg Form and no payment, or payment and no Reg Form...I assume its 'in the mail' and will finalize your registration when it is complete, but it needs to happen right away.
Andyrew and pal...You're in...but you may be asked to park the NAR914 around the corner...
Well, I for one, want to thank Jeff for all the hard work and diligence he has taken to put this all together, and those who have helped him. This should be a great experience for all of us who attend. I for one am looking forward to it with great expectations. It will be good to meet all of the people here we have been talking to for quite some time. My hat is off to you Jeff and I look forward to seeing you again.
My highest regards
Here, here! Three cheers for Jeff. We started discussing the WCC at the first breakfast this year, and were worried about whether it would happen or not. Jeff fearlessly stepped up to the plate and, with the help of many others, this is shaping up to be the biggest 914 gathering I've ever heard of. Cheers to the planning committee!!
Jen
was looking into registering late....no go this year...too tight....wish I could be there....next year definately....
write your congressmen to tell them to pay soldiers more! ...so I can
Cheers to Jeff. Its all happening..... and its good.
why is BRAD not on the list ?!?!?
<_< Andy
Why do I not see you on the list Andy?
-Britain
Get on the freakin LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW.
Do as you are told.
buncha slackers... They're probably planning on crashing the event.
Jen
Brad doesnt have the money to attend and Brad has been too busy to even clean a car up for the event.
I'm having a hard time getting people to pay in and sign up. They all want to go, and I could almost double the total number of cars, but most of them are not on the BBS. They come into the shop and I hand them a sign up form and they want to attend, but they have NO idea who we are or why they should pay.
I wont make the drive on Friday and I'll be lucky if I can make the AutoX and Swap meet.
It is not important that I attend the event.
B
Uh, Brad, wasn't this your idea to begin with? After the MUSR? Your the boss man here. I'll bet there are more than a few people who will be greatly dissapointed not to see you again, or meet you for the first time.
Cheers, Curt
Brad, so you've been busy. We understand. You have helped everyone on this board in one way or another. This club/site is your baby and you damn well better be there. I'm ready to send a few $ to Bowlsby toward your admission and I'm sure others are too.
Jim Chambers
You need to be there Brad.
B go to the planning thread.
Your excuse is that you don't want to attend because you didn't do enough of the planning??
That's a bullshit excuse and you know it.
Nobody is going to the event to see who planned it. Everyone is attending for the people, cars, and to have a great time. And to meet all of these people that they have only known as a screen name for all these months or years.
Nobody cares what you did or didn't do for the planning of this event.
B should be at every part of the event he can make it to. If money is an issue then everyone there should throw a few bucks at Jeff to make it happen.
Personally I need B at the AutoX to advise on my car - and I'm sure that applies to just about every car that will be there.
We should insist - he and Lyressa should be 'guests of honor'
Richard
Hell, I'm not going, but I'll pitch in to see B get there.
Brad
I hope you will reconsider. I know I would be disappointed not seeing you there and it appears other people feel the same.
If it's about the dough I'll kick some in as payment for all your hard work and hidden little costs that have gone into the site
Dave
Just Paypaled $10 to Jeff for use in covering registration for any guest(s) of honor he chooses. If none are available, use it for whatever.
Brad, who??
CCLIN
Hey Jeff,
When you have him on the phone, tell him to quit whining or I'll personally kick his but
(I bought the plane tickets this afternoon, so I'm coming to the WCC!!!)
cheers,
Jeroen
Yahoo Jeroen!! That's great news!!
Demick
P.S. Interesting trick - posing as Bowlsby
I didn't post as Jeff... Jeff just quoted part of a PM that I send him
Looking forward to seeing you guys at the WCC
(and that INCLUDES Brad!)
cheers,
Jeroen
Richard
I just talked my wife (Sherryl) into joining us on Friday....she has no interest in the auto-x on Saturday, she already knows how bad of a driver I am..LOL
All right Jeroen!!
BRAD,
Do I need to call your wife and Rich.
Rich: did Brad get hit with a wrench?
Seriously Brad, get a friggen hall pass. If you don't go, you'll regret it, and we'll regret it. Do it for me and all the people that enjoy talking to you and learning from you. You are the FMJ of 914s.
Remember when 15-20 of us drove up to work on Jenny's car, if you're behind or need some help... you've got it.
If you don't say YES call me for your tongue lashing.
R
WOW, even Jeroen is going. Awesome dude!
Rob called today and spanked me. I just need to clean up my attitude a little.
I still have several people that havent signed up yet. I have NO idea how we will accomodate them.
Jeroen will stay at my house during the event
That'll be fun! So does this mean that your going to be going to the event? or are you going to have to hear everything second hand from Jeroen???
Andrew
(Would be very happy to see you at the event Brad.. Not that me saying that changes anything.. lol )
We could kidnap him and dye his hair a strange color........
At this point I'm planning on crashing the event. I'll probably go to the Friday breakfast and then split when it's drive time. Saturday I might try to catch up with the post-AX crowd for dinner. Sunday I'll go to the swap meet and crash the goodbye lunch or whatever is planned. That'll be just about all I can stand of happy 914 people until my car is drivable.
Thanks Jeff that does answer some questions. Maybe I'm daft but I wasn't 100% positive what exactly was included in the registration and what wasn't. Some things were clear like the 17 mile drive fees and the AX fees, but other things (food mostly) didn't seem spelled out for us mental midgets.
Also, has a support vehicle been designated for the Friday drive? If not I could probably be coerced.
Hell, I'm still brainstorming to try to find a car in record time, but I'm still registered, paid, and planning on going...
Guess I need to try to make a room reservation too...
Looks like I'm going solo, the family isn't too hot on doing things in the area w/o me while I'm doing 914 stuff. The wifie doesn't really like 914 computer geeks anyway!
Iz sooo confused...
sm
FYI, Pruneyard still seems to have rooms and is still offering the club rate of $85. I just made reservations.
Brad better go, otherwise I'm going to have to converse with somebody else to make this trip a write off... Enough with the "Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo, poor Brad is on the welfare and has to work" bullshit, he needs the write-off too!!!
sm (you sometimes have to be an a-hole to befriend an asshole)
So lets see the final list of who's attending.
the first post in this thread is constantly updated.
Thanks! Great list. I'm looking forward to putting names to faces.
Are we planning on doing name tags? I know it sounds dorky but I think it would help greatly if we had name tags with the club username and our real names. I will even volunteer to print them up if someone wants to send me an excel file or text file with the info.
Got it covered Anthony, but thansk for the offer...
Some name tags won't have 'screen names' becasue not everyone coming has a screen name...
Jeff,
How's the 17 mile drive set up? Are we going to try to keep a continuous line of 914's or just meet at certain spots? That will be a historic sight. When are we going to see the route?
Felix
Hi Felix, all the details are being worked out now, and will be included in the event brochure which will be distributed at the Breakfast. We will drive the twisty road tour, incuding the 17-Mile Drive in smaller pods of about 10-12 cars, which will redezvous at group photo locations.
Registration confirmations and brief info will be sent out in another week or two...
Looks like I will make the AutoX and the Swapmeet. Might or might not have a car.
B
See! Give it a couple more days and you'll be able to make the first day as well
cheers,
Jeroen
Jeroen, I'd ship your hat to Brad, but he won't give me his new address like he doesn't want me to know where he lives I don't get it I'm afraid if I ship it to HPH you'll never get it just cause there's so much going on there
Now that I have a 914 I'd like to go to at least part of this. Will there be a large gathering of folks at the PH swap meet? Is the farewell party during/at the swap meet too? If possible I'd like to check out the AX, but I doubt I can wing that one.
Yes you can attend the Saturday and sunday events without preregistration. You won't be able to park with our 60+ 914s or receive any of the awards or raffle parts, but you can sure watch.
Brad and Rich (High Performance House) are swamped. They have a huge amount of work getting the local 914s ready for the WCC. If we dont hear from them, its because they are under or over someones 914! I figure they are not ignoring us, its that No News is Good News!
Slits, I believe what Jeff was talking about in that post was the reserved parking area at the swap meet on Sunday.
We will have a couple of parade laps when we get to track after the Monterey Run.
KK
Sweet! My car gets to go on Laguna Seca!! Way to go Keith!!
Jen
Geez guys/gals... Quit your whining and lighten up will ya!
Have you got any idea how much time/work/effort is going into organzing an event of this magnitude???
This is not your avarage 9:14 breakfast or what ever kind of "I'll-see-if-I-can-make-it" get together.
Stuff has to be payed for (some in advance) and things may need to be run a little tighter than you are used to.
Do you really think that's strange if you are expecting over 60 cars and well over 100 people?
You go find a restaurant and make reservations for a least 100 people "but it may as well be 150, cause some locals may drop by"
If you know a place like that, you should be on the planning committee for 2005
Same goes for the sat/sunday events. We are part of someone elses event those days. We got reserved/assigned spots from them.
That doesn't mean you can't drop by, but you may have to park your car else where from the rest of the club. BIG DEAL!
No one said you can't come for parts of the event (even the friday breakfast)
You can. JUST CONTACT JEFF IF YOU DO
Hope to see you there!
cheers,
Jeroen
Well said.
We surely don’t want anyone to feel excluded and it is our sincere hope and intent that every 914 owner will be encouraged to participate, but we need you to help us out.
Jeroen nailed it. The WCC is not like most other 914 events where people can just show up without previous arrangements. We have well over 70 914s and 100 people (over 30 from out of town), that need to be coordinated in getting to 5 different venues, 150 miles apart throughout the Bay Area, over 3 different days. We have purchased custom event items, awards, provided maps and a host of other items necessary to make this event happen. The breakfast is a prepaid, catered event and there simply won’t be a place at the table for anyone if they are not expected. The Monterey Tour travels over twisty backroads that are not familiar even to the locals. Cars will be previously-organized into smaller pods to make the trip achievable, drivers will be given maps and led by someone who has previously driven the route (We need several pod leader volunteers – local drivers to pre-drive the route – contact me!).
Please extend to us the courtesy of not crashing the party, but let us know you want to participate in the WCC by completing registration, because we want to include everyone that wants to attend. Registration closed over two weeks ago to give us enough time to make final coordinations, and even that timetable is squeaky tight. We can still accommodate a couple more though if you act right away. If you intend to join in on the WCC 2004, complete a registration form immediately and overnight mail it to the address on the registration form with payment, so that it is received NLT Wednesday this week. Registrations received on or after Thursday will be returned, not something we want to do, but it will be too late to avoid.
You’ve heard that we have been granted brief photo-op access to the Laguna Seca track. There are other unannounced 914 surprises that will make this the 914 event of the year.
Hope to see you there. Uh here.
It looks like another great event is coming together because of all the attentive and detailed planning for the many attendees. I will not be formally attending but we will viisit the parts swap, concours, and auto-X as a spectator. The drives and the photo sessions will be great. It is going to be great seeing more than 60 cars from across the Northwest, West, Southwest, and Midwest.. Yes, including Colorado, too. Please forgive me if I left other areas out who are attending.
Congratulations to all the attendees who are making this a major continuing event. Cars have been prepped, emergency repair stations organized, caravans being made up,
Ladies and Gentlemen!!!! This week, Start Your 914 Engines. Your West Coast Meet is arriving. Have fun and make it the best event ever. I would like to see more of these down the road.
Organizers!!!! Congratulations on putting this event on. It is not a small matter in organizing, arranging and running an event such as the WCM. Each of you should give yourself a well deserved pat on the back. Now that you have done that, get right back in there because the 914 "troops" will be arriving. Job well done.
These are my thoughts.
Steve Hurt
Steve,
from the team, thanks. But, really there are a couple people who need to be acknowledged IMHO.
1. Brad for coming up with the idea and assembling the team
2. Jeff Bowlsby for driving the bus. This isn't an easy job and Jeff has done an outstanding job steering this big ol bus we call WCC.
I absolutely agree, I've had some experience putting together "events" but not on this scale and I can tell you there is much to do and little as your reward but the knowledge of a job well done. Jeff and all who put this wonderful event together, thanks from us all. Jim
Jeff is a fine man and I'm damn glad to know him. Thanks to everyone for this WCC! I am so looking forward to good times, good stories, and a massive 914 fix!!! I won't have to chase 914s down like I usually do.
Its all true.... and I drove my 914 over to look at the house before I bought it 5 years ago, there was a 914 across the street that I later bought, and Jeff came over to look at it - for a wiring harness.
You are right concerning Brad and Jeff. I was holding my congratulations until the entire event was over. I want Jeff and Brad to just keep being themselves. Any congrates from me was going to be after the major event is over.
So here is the recognition from me: I have watched Brad and Jeff being involved behind the scenes for a number of years. They have given themselves to many events and causes without asking for anything in return. This unselfishness is very much apparent in the WCC. For these efforts both of them should be congratulated. I consider these two people very close friends and feel very confortable in seeking their advice. If they needed anything, I would be there at a drop of a hat.
Congratulations to both Brad and Jeff. This is another major reason why I like belonging to 914Club. In fact, every member should give yourself a "pat on the back" for belonging since it is all the members that make this an excellent organization.
So Congratulations to Everyone.
Jeff, are you still following the funny painted 914's? Icecycle? Popcycle? What funny names!
Brad, I will get on what I promised you and should be in your hands within two weeks after WCC.
Steve Hurt
I FINALLY turned in my paperwork and Scott Yeamans paperwork to Jeff this weekend while I was out drumming up money.
B
The Final Registration list is posted in the first post of this thread.
Registration confirmations and information packets mailed.
You think you guys are stressed....I have 121 people coming to a 914 Breakfast. And to Monterey and Laguna Seca And to an AX. And to a Concours, Swapmeet and Farewell Party
I couldnt be happier!
When do we start signing up for next year??
CCLINWCC2005
Craig
Look at the first post. The first guy on the list gets to run the thing. I nominate Craig.
Dave
76 914's and 121 people. This is huge! Could be the single largest gathering of 914's anywhere in the world in over a decade!
Demick
Jeff,
When are the info packs being mailed or the events detailed on the site? I need the event schedule.
Felix
Jeff says they were mailed today.
Demick
I dont see my name there and I havent recieved my reg. packet
It just came in the mail Thanks
Bernie
