914World.com _ Past Event Planning Threads _ Boston Bruins Fans/ Class

Fellow NE 914 Clubbers,

As many of you may know, the Bruins are in the playoffs playing against the Montreal Canadians. If you have watched the games you also know the Canadian fans booed the American National Anthem 3 nights ago. I imagine this was in protest of political decisions, but am unsure. However,.... I have never seen a more class-less act in my years. But thats not why I am posting.

If you were in attendance at last nights game, I would like to personally Thank You and anyone who may have been there. The cheering heard while the Canadian National Anthem was sung by Rene Rancourt brought tears to my eyes. My fellow Americans turned a cheek, the likes I have never seen. This was truly a class act by all involved. For those attendees which also sang the American National Anthem with pride and zeal. I thank you as well. I sang at home while my usual fidgety 25 month old sat quietly on my lap (never happens). Maybe, even at 2 he understands what true patriotism is.
Patriotism, something which Bruins fans taught Montreal Fans last night. The Bruins did not play well last night, and the Canadians did (5-1). But I will never forget, nor will I let my young son forget the night we watched regular, everyday Americans teach basic decency to those who watched. I applaud you, and Thank you.

I totally agree,

Any of us out east who listen to any of the sports talk out here know that over the past few days all the talk shows have been trying to fire everyone up and make a spectical out of it last night...good for the Bruin's fans for taking the high road!
