I'd just like to add, the last Tahoe shirt, and the Monterey shirt were very close in overall design. It would be nice to have something more original for this one

Ken Schipper has designed several of the WCR t-shirts and that is why the design is similar. It's kind of the WCR iconic design. There are other graphic designers here if people don't want that again.

I don't care that much about the design of the shirt. I just want a good quality one. We've had some that have kind of been on the cheap. I'd rather pay more for a nice shirt that will last.

Posted by: JStroud Feb 12 2014, 09:19 AM

Agree quality shirts are a plus, Monterey shirts were good.

Sounds like we have a location-Tahoe, and a date?
Do we have someone to deal with T-shirts?

Jeff

Since no one has offered I guess I'll handle t-shirts, so do we want to include them in the registration price, or offer them seperatly so any one can purchase?

Thought if we offer them separate so everyone could order we could build in a small profit to help offset the dinner or BBQ cost then offer a lower registration fee?

Thoughts?

We usually do both...include one shirt with registration, and they can buy additional t-shirts if they want.

We have a couple extra hundred dollars to use that has built up over years past. I'll have to look to see how much. If it's going to be in Tahoe, we should buy a couple space heaters like we rented last time for the parking lot. The rental fee was 60% of what it would cost to buy the damn things at Costco!

Agree.

Ken is working on the design, as soon as he sends me the first draft I'll post it here.

OK anyone know another design guy.....talked to Ken at the end of Feb. said he would have a design in a week, nothing, Emailed him again at the beginning of the week...nothing.

This is getting very frustrating

Posted by: JStroud Mar 24 2014, 01:19 PM

Called and finally got Ken, He apoligized, said he would try to have a design emailed tomorrow.

I'm going to check on costs from a local place tomorrow, figured I could use the 2010 design to show them so I can get some cost figures, I have one quote already, we'll see what this place comes up with.

Posted by: JStroud Mar 27 2014, 12:03 PM

OK, Ken has not responded again, no design. I'm done dealing with him, time is running out. Im no graphic artist, but I found some images online and put this together last night. I'm sure a print shop will be able to clean it up and merge the images better, but do you like the idea...should I pursue it, or does someone else want to try to deal with Ken, or a different design.

Classic awards in Natomas did the last Tahoe and the Monterey shirts. They know me. Call them. They can probably use the last design, change the year to 2014 and make it "Teeners at Tahoe II"

Or, you could try Ken again...

Posted by: JStroud Mar 28 2014, 10:33 PM

Just when I was ready to give up, got an email from ken with the design, will post it when I get to a computer.

Oh I went by classic awards Thursday since I was in the area.....they're gone.
Seems the merged with another company downtown, another day.

In case you need a reliable printer, but not the cheapest, Jakprints.com. They did my Original Customs shirt and the first run of 914World sweatshirts.

Posted by: JStroud Mar 29 2014, 03:56 PM

Got the design files from Ken, This is what the back will look like, except the Teeners at Tahoe will read Teeners at Tahoe II. Should have the update and the front logo file soon. Any preference for shirt color, or just white? Will have prices by Tuesday.

As I said, the design is somewhat iconic. Looks good!

Classic awards is downtown now, stopped in on my way to loomis today, talked to Barbara, she remembered us, gave us the same price as Monterey, ends up with setup, shirts, and tax right at $10 per shirt.

Price goes down as the quantity goes up. Take the final art and set up a t-shirt order thread for people who aren't coming. We always sell as many as we give to participants. Last Tahoe event, I had the price down to $7.00 each or thereabouts...

The price was based on 2012 invoice from Monterey, total was $509.xx for 51 shirts, if my rithmatic is correct that's $10 ea....just the shirt price was $6.95, it's the setup and tax that bring it to $10.

Posted by: ConeDodger Apr 3 2014, 10:34 AM

Well, then we need to get that T-shirt design graphic out there on a thread. Price them at $16 each + domestic shipping and start taking orders. Believe me, I have had the T-shirt place finish them the Thursday the event started and had to have someone else pick them up because I am up at the event already...

Posted by: JStroud Apr 3 2014, 05:57 PM

I'll get it posted tonight as soon as I get the paypal address from Brett, sent him a PM

Posted by: JRust Apr 3 2014, 07:45 PM

Needs to be a good quality shirt. I have no problem paying for a good shirt.

Same shirts as Monterey, the lady at the printer said they were good quality shirts. confused24.gif If their is a peticular brand your looking for I can check.

Wish you hadn't posted that in the sale thread, might hurt our sales.

Plus I asked earlier, White, or another color...no comments.

Posted by: McMark Apr 3 2014, 10:42 PM

I prefer heather gray. But white shows off the design the best.

How are the shirts coming along? Do I owe anyone money yet?

1 week left, yikes!

Posted by: JStroud May 9 2014, 01:51 AM

They should be ready Monday or Tuesday, the place is downtown on Q st if you want to just pick them up and pay for them....don't you work near there.

Or I can get them if you're not able.

Posted by: biosurfer1 May 9 2014, 10:13 AM

That would be great if they are available Monday. I'll be at 400 Q St. all morning...but either way I can pick them up, it's on my way home.

Posted by: JStroud May 11 2014, 09:32 PM

Brett,
The place is Classic awards, 2111 Q st, 800-505-8545. If they're not ready Monday, you could go by and just pay for them, then I can pick them up, whatever works.

Jeff

Posted by: biosurfer1 May 12 2014, 07:46 AM

Posted by: biosurfer1 May 12 2014, 11:52 AM
