Price will be $15 per shirt. (plus shipping if not at the RRC)
Deadline to order is Noon on Labor Day, Monday Sept. 4th.
Two color printing on back.
One color printing on front.
(possible 2 color on front if more than 50 shirts are ordered)
Shirt Options:
Ring T - heavy 100% cotton. also available as 50/50 medium weight.
Organic T - lighter cotton. recommended by vendor as very comfortable.
Polo - think of it more as a t-shirt with a collar.
Notice there are 3 different designs on the front.
Please state your preference along with your choice of shirts.
I like the second one best, but the first one is nice, except my fear of the collar fade... The 914world.com logo would be cool on the breast... Thanks John..
since you asked....
I really like #2
plain collar. more sedate. even like the tan (grey is my second choice of color, but still in style 2)
brant
I like the polo
A full white T is a little plain maybe
Is "cloudy" light gray T an option?
Either way, John, let me know when/what you need for the printer and I'll send it your way
Like this ?
Or like this ?
we can also do the new badge design on the front
single color (like my avatar)
and replace "kurvenmeister" with "RedRockClassic" (if it fits the space - not sure, I'll have to try) or RRC 2006
I like the dancer guy with the steering wheel or the new badge for the front.
i vote badge
Have you guys considered doing the full art on the front with the back dedicated to sponsors & vendors who have pitched in?
...just wonderin', that's how we've been doing the Fall Foliage Classic and the vendors like it, plus they get a free T shirt out of it.
I like that Idea Sean..
John is something like that possible?
brant
Sure it is possible, but I'm not alone in this. We would be stuck with crappy results without Jeoren's graphic skills. If he is willing / able to do the art, I can get it printed. Eihter way, we should decide soon. It would be best to have the shirt options ready when we go public with the registration details.
Do we have an accurate and complete list of the vendors who will be donating prizes?
We certainly wouldn't want to leave anybody out.
They get a free shirt for their contributions...yes, someone has to pay for it, but it's a Thank You we do for our sponsors. At $15 per shirt (for those who order) there is a bit of profit to pay for sponsors schtuff.
Sean,
There is ZERO profit margin in our registration, (Can't speak for the shirts) and with 8-10 sponsors at $15 a pop, we can't afford it.
IMO, the sponsors donate not only to help us out (which we truly appreciate) but also to bring some recognition to themselves. So while it helps us, it helps them too.
I'd love to give a shirt to each sponsor, but we are scraping by on our current registration fee. This is a not-for-profit effort on the organizers. We would have to raise the current registration to cover the cost of the sponsors shirts.
But if we do include sponsor names on the shirts, the advertising, should be thank you enough IMO
artwork for the sponsors is not a problem...
since you're low on cash, you don't need to send your sponsors a free shirt
they get a "bonus" for being on the shirt already!
we have one more sponsor to add as well
http://www.turtlemountainbrewing.com/
If Jeroen is willing to do the art - I say: "full speed ahead".
I think it looks 'cooler' with sponsor logo's added, plus it is a nice 'thank you' to give the sponsors 50 walking advertisements.
You get the idea . . .
Definitely the new badge for the front.
I don't know how the FFC does it, but in this case the shirts are a private service.
Not likely, but if only 30 shirts are sold - I am screwed.
50 will give me a free one, plus I have always sent one to Jeroen. The 'flat fee' postage rates I charge also need to be supplemented. Only once have I ended up in the hole after the final accounting. In the past I have given a few 'free' shirts to other 'Club' members, when there were extras. I would love to be able to promise some as gifts to the sponsors, but I am not is a position to do so. If enough shirts are sold, that may be possible.
I do expect a lot of people to order shirts.
I had planned for any excess revenue will be added to the charity donation.
Two more things
Are any of the sponsors donating cash?
Which style of shirt does everybody like best? VOTE !!!
John,
I have not received notification from any of the sponsors that they would be sending cash.
Great idea on the shirts, the sponsor logos on the back are great. I still like the all white t-shirt, but dig the sponsors on the back, better then crowding the front and back.
turtle mtn emailed me a logo. who should i forward it too?
send it to:
jeroen@berloth.nl
thanks!
who else is sponsoring the RRC?
A big thank you to Ya-roon for helping with the design!
I like the second shirt best. As Brant has said, tan or light grey would be nice.
New badge idea on the front is excellent!
Sponsors of the event on the back is a great idea. I don't think that any of the sponsors wouldn't mind having to buy a shirt considering the exposure they'd be getting.
I'd be willing to bet that John would sell a minimum of 50 shirts...
The second shirt style seems to be the favorite, so let's go with it.
Here are the details from the vendor:
American Apparel Organic Jersey T
Material: 4.3 oz., 100% Organic Fine Jersey Cotton
Sizes: Adult: S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL
Product Description: This 100% organic shirt has baby ribbed stretchable collar and a double stitched bottom hem.
Comments: Less bulky and lighter weight, this T-shirt is a staff favorite. Made in the USA.
The only color available in this organic style is the natural / light tan.
Get me a list of sponsors and I'll finish up the artwork
cool john.
can we get a navy print this year? (or something different than red)
I think it's gonna look a pretty goofie if the red rock classic has a blue logo
Compromise - - Red & Black for the large RRC graphic and sponsor's logos on the back, Blue for the 914Club badge on the front.
Is there one major sponsor?
If so - their logo could be offset on the other side on the front.
Not at all. I want everyones opinions and feedback. *
We are all in this together.
I don't want to be the only guilty one.
*(I can be a little bling in my taste sometimes)
. . . . or we could do the shirts in Cardinal and Gold.
. . . or Salmon PINK.
salmon would be down right hialrious
cardinal and gold how can you go wrong.........
come on guys... gimme a sponsor list
I wanna get the art work done over the weekend
Jerone,
I'm sorry it's my fault...
Getting some of these guy's to reply to me is like pulling teeth..
9 magazine finally committed but they still have not given me a list of things in the goody bags they are going to send.
Wayne at Pelican finally gave me a contact name there for event donations. I sent him a letter this morning, hopefully I will hear back from him no later then Monday....
So here is who we can list now, these guy's have either sent door prizes or have assured me they are.
CAMP914
Designing Specialties III (Spunone)
JWEST
PMB Performance
Moron Throttle
Appearance & Performance
US Divers
9 Magazine
No Bad Days Graphics.
The Howard Agency
Evil Werks
914 Club Administration
Turtle Mountain Brewery
Pelican Parts
When you have a chance, can you please send me over the artowrk, so I can have the stickers done up?
Thanks, and sorry for the delay.
Brian
Thanks Brian
I'll get you the artwork over the weekend...
Jeroen,
If you don't have it already, I have Camp 914, JWest, MoronThrottle, 914 Appearance & Performance in AI that I can send over.
John,
I ordered a shirt similar to that one once, and after washing it the sleeves were really short. I'll bet they'll send you a sample for free so you can be assured of the quality of the shirt.
Thanks for the heads-up Sean. I will investigate further.
I thought the sleeves looked short to start with.
Ok, collecting sponsor logo's
Can someone get me the logo's from US Divers and Pelican Parts?
Perferably in .eps or .ai format, but most anything will do...
Sending....
crap... that was a shit load of work
I had to vectorize more than half the logo's (specially the pelican was a PITA)
Plus had to make 2 logo's from scratch for people who didn't have any
I have more than a full day's work into this, so I felt my own logo deserved to be in there too
anyways... here's the collected logo's
Attached image(s)
now we need to decide WHERE we're gonna put these...
because there's so many of them, it'll be hard to put the RRC logo on the back AND all the sponsors under it
If we want that, I'll have to change the RRC logo a little (see pic below)
and even then it's a bit of a stretch...
other option is to do the RRC logo on the front and all the sponsors on the back
in that case, we can do the sponsors in b/w to save some bucks...
lemme know what you think
Attached image(s)
holey moley..
thanks for doing so much work Jeroen!
that looks awesome!
mikes "evil works" looks awesome. are his and spunone the ones you created from scratch?
brant
Evil werks is killer!!! I want a shirt with just his logo on it...
Awesome work Jeroen.. My vote all logo's on the back.. I hate stuff on the front.. Just my vote. Can you have the sponsors around the RRC logo?
You can remove Team NARP, unless someone else talked with him? I never heard back from him regarding donations...
Also if were going to put the badge on the front, do we need it on the back..? That removes two, so it will free up some space..
John told me Team Narp was in...
Lemme know if they're not
Yep, EvilWerks and SpunOne are made from scratch
They don't know what they'll get yet
I'll be back on saturday, so you've got some time to decide
I'll wrap things up when I get back and send it to John
That looks spectacular Jeroen.
(damn, that sure is a shit load of sponsor logos)
I think it is to much to have all the sponsors and the RRC logo on the back.
I vote for just the sponsors on the back.
because the sponsors are going to have such a large display on the shirts, do you think it would be appropriate to ask for them to subsudize the cost? I believe the 914club sponsor shirts that Seanery was making were being subsidized by said sponsors, which is why they were quite a bit cheaper
just an idea.......
I spoke with my contact regarding the short sleeves and the organic shirt.
She said it is a styling thing. You know . . . very popular with hip teenagers.
Sooo . . . back to the traditional style for us vintage fogies.
Pick One:
Natural.
Ash.
Haze.
Sand.
can i throw in two cents?
I think the sponsor idea is cool, but it is a little over whelming.
I mean, it is supposed to be an "event" Tshirt, not a billboard.
Ok, maybe that was a nickel's worth. sorry
you asked...
my opinion in this order:
sand, natural, ash, and last is haze...
only my opinion.
but the red looks really nice against the sand.
brant
Yeah. Jeroen's graphic turned out to be a helluva lot more than I expected. I would hate for his efforts to be in vein. It is appropriate to thank the vendors who donated, but they aren't really sponsors of the event. Lemme see what I can work up. It can't be to small or you won't be able to tell what the logos are.
More comments please.
What color for the shirts?
If we are doing red/black on the back we can do a different color combination of the front if we want. Suggestions? Should we stick with the full event graphic on the front?
Sand is also my 1st choice. Natural is 2nd.
Been outta town for a couple a days... but I'm back now
What you can do with the sponsors:
Contact them if they want their logo on the shirt
If so, they pay extra
If not, we only print their name on the shirt (text only, all in the same font, alphabetical order)
If you do the logo's on the back and the RRC logo on front, I do the front full size, not pocket sized, otherwise the shirt will be (even) more of a billboard instead of an event shirt...
Just my 2 cents...
(oh, and don't worry about the work I got into the shirt/logo's, those will come in handy at one time or another)
What about something this for the back with some sort of limited RRC logo on the front breast?
I don't think it would be fair to change the rules now and go back and ask the sponsors for money.
Front
except maybe in blue and red for variety
Attached image(s)
Jeroen - My latest graphic for the back is unbalanced. I am confident you can find a better arrangement. Also, with it reduced there might be a problem with the Turtle logo (like we had with Iron Horse on the WCC plates). Can you reverse the text in the center so it has better contrast.
Do you have any good ideas for the front. More planners have said they liked the breast pocket logo on the front instead of something full size.
Sorta like this (my .jpg's are to dirty to get a better image)
Talk to me! I'm getting tired of fuchin' with it.
compare
Jeroen - Is it to late to add one more sponsor logo (in addition to or in place of the Porsche crest). John (jgara962) has offered to send some wine from The Delicato Family Vineyards. See page 18 and 19 of http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=51324&st=340.
You da Man.
John, can you ask them if they have their logo in .eps .ai or .pdf format?
That would save me a ton of work...
I'll look into the Turtle Mountain logo
Let's not take our chances on the Porsche Crest...
SAND
nice work guys...
I slightly revised the RRC logo and made the sponsor logo's a little smaller
this is the best I can do to make it all fit on the back of a shirt
Please decide quick... John needs to get these things going
Attached thumbnail(s)
I say go...
we always seem to have decision making problems.
I think that its time to move
That works for me.
You have 24 hours to post suggestions / objections.
Unless I can be convinced to change - here is what will be offered:
The shirts will be Sand colored.
The above graphic will be on the back.
The original RRC logo will be on the front breast.
Both will be done in red / black.
The price will be $15 per shirt.
Shipping is a flat $5 per order if not attending the event.
Order deadline is noon on Monday, September 4th (Labor Day)
