Hi there, I am looking for a good used or new-condition windshield for my 914/6GT project. In the SoCal area (LA, SD, etc.) for pickup. Not looking for something with deep scratches, hazing, etc.

Thanks!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I used 914Werke to source mine. @914werke and it was easy.

The tip I have for you is when you go to the warehouse, they will bring one out to you that is new and you should inspect it. I had them bring out 5 of them before I took the one I liked. Their employees can be rough with them and some had scratches that I didnt feel I could remove, so pick a perfect one. They are cooperative and will bring them out to you, as long as they have them...

Was easy to deal with and priced right.

Thanks everyone so far, but I'm not a fan of the green tint on the new windshields. I would prefer an un-tinted one if possible. Thanks!

Hi, have you tried a Porsche dealer parts department? They're pricey but still available.

I had my front windshield placed on my 914 "74" at Pete's Auto Glass Center in Whitter. The owner does all older cars no one else.

I bought my windshield glass from a local Porsche dealer.

I went to 3 local Porsche dealers - the same Porsche 914 windshield varied quite a bit from each dealer ($600-$975). I bought the lowest priced at $600.

That dealer told me they didn't install windshields on older air cooled Porsches (they told me they outsourced that work to an old school glass guy (too much of a specialty).

So I asked for his contact info and they happily shared. He quoted me $150 to pick up the glass from the dealer and install it at my place.

Took all the risk out of it. He used the butyl, butyl printer, and windshield gasket I bought from 914 Rubber for approx. $75 (I didn't want to go with the chrome trim and clips).

So in the end ... new Porsche glass installed for approx. $800 total.

@wertygrog

Have you tried Rufino (714-292-5811)? SoCal local who did several 914 windshield of our 914world members. He did mine last 2015 also and he provided the windshield too.

Picture below is around June 2017 before I sold this 75 1.8 F.I. but the windshield was replaced in Sept. 2015.
