After the embarassment of coming home on the flatbed yesterday, I have decided to carry my towbar. That way anyone passing by with a 2" hitch can get you out of trouble.

For less than $200, you can buy the bar, mounting tabs, and magnetic trailer light kit. Requires drilling 4 1/2" holes and will not work if you have fog lights in the fron grilles.

Yup, spare tire, tools and I used to carry a condom in my wallet, too. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif)

I've got that exact tow bar on mine. Sturdy as hell. Remember I have 1200lbs of batteries in my 914. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

Why not carry a jack and jackstands too?

I think TonyAKAVW used to do that. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

It's a light weight sports car so you can add your own custom amount of ballast right?
