I need ideas, either going to powdercoat everything with nice stock colors or dress it up and match the body with some items.
Please post pictures of your engine prefer out of the car shots. Brad or someone had an awesome picture of what appeared to be a recent rebuild in stock colors, engine looked straight off the factory floor. I'd like to see that one here. Thanks for all the help and input so far!! Kirk |

I think Seanery has the pretty engine. White with red accent on the runners, if I remember correctly. If his engine has a heartbeat, Id marry it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I personally like all aluminum:
(IMG:http://www.lnengineering.com/al_nickies_longblock.jpg) Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Ok, my square has yellow engine tin. I just wish I would have had time to powdercoat it rather than have it sprayed in town at the local painters. Any suggestions as to what color would look good for engine tin on a signal orange teener? Charles Navarro LN Engineering http://www.LNengineering.com Aircooled Precision Performance |

That was the old motor that I painted the sheetmetal. Here is where it is powder coated. With the carbs. Much nicer.

Great pictures! I never really thought about changing the color of the tin. Looks great.
There was another post where a guy posted his engine, had grey valve covers and runners, looked powder coated. Are there any problems with powdercoating those...are temps low enough? |

The plug wires used on the engines I have built, are the less expensive type one plug wires. The 2 liters do not need the long reach connectors like they try to sell you for the type 4. The 1.7 and 1.8 need them but the 2 liters are all short. You just cut them to fit and screw the connectors back on. They look better, fit better and are about $8.00 cheaper. I just bought some for my 2270 a few weeks ago. 8mm wires and they work great.
