My Diamond steel wheels (the heavier version) wieghed in at 35-39 with a 225-50-15 Dunlop Sp8000. I was pretty impressed with them. I saw on their site they offer a sub 16lb steel wheel in a 15. I talked with the owner awhile back and he said he would send me the centers and I could do what ever I wanted and send them back and he would weld them in. Might be a way to take more out of the wheel.

QUOTE(nebreitling @ Mar 16 2004, 12:04 PM) and also from AA's catalog, an (LE?) with the 17"s that looks a little lowered (better imho) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2-1079467467.jpg) Yes, it's an LE. But the wheels are a photoshop job. Not a very good one, either--if you see it at anything bigger than "thumbnail" size. QUOTE (from ninefourteener) If I recall...... I thought the Panasport had a smaller lug pattern (the 16 incher anyway).... like for a Miata or something. Probably. But they also make a 4x130 pattern for the 914. In fact, they make quite a number of different bolt patterns!! smile.gif That's what makes them neat. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) --DD |

I hace two sets of those. You need a 5" backspace to work. I ended up painting the whole wheel black as they aare a PITA to keep cleen.

Those are 225's Kumhos.
The car is balanced on two jack stands. Didn't mean to do it but I leaned on the backend and the front came up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

I'll try and get some pictures of the 17's for you guys this weekend. The car is on jack stands, but I jacked up a rear tire to see the fender clearance and it is perfect. There's not much room to spare on either side in the rear, but they won't rub. There should be no reason for the car to have to sit high in the rear. The fronts can actually be spaced out wider.
As for the weight of the wheels, I'll check them again when I'm out there this weekend. I am sure though, that they only weigh about three pounds more with tires than a 15x6.5 Revolution RFX race wheel with the same width tire mounted. Not bad for an extra 2 inches of diameter and half inch of width. |

Ha! I'll probably be watching F1 at your Dad's this weekend, I'll get the pics then. But I'll only post them if you promise to come to an NNJR autocross this season! Price was $1150 for four from Auto Atlanta.

Fenders are 100% straight, but the inner lip has been bent flat to fit a previous set of wheels and tires. Not really necessary for these. Closeup of the outer fender:

Crash914.. the wheels on the right are VERY hard to find now and weigh damn near nothing compared to the others listed here. You can buy the wheel halves in 16+17 inch.
They are called DuraLights. The guy who made them is in Oklahoma. B |

Weighed the wheels with tires again last weekend and here are the numbers:
Revolution RFX 15x6.5" with 205/50/15 Kumho Victoracers= 39lbs. Revolution RZX 17x7" with 205/40/17 Kumho V700's = 42lbs. Both wheels are the "race" wheels, which are supposedly a little lighter than the street wheels that Revolution manufactures. |
