The obvious one that comes to my mind is the aluminum Buick 215 V8. Very popular as it is very light. It was sold to England and is now put in the rovers.

Hell yeah, I have seen several of them, There was one on Ebay for sale about a year or so ago. Kennedy makes the adapter.

There was a guy selling a Rover v8 with all the FI stuff and a adapter plate for a 901 trans on ebay. He was marketing to the dune buggy crowd but it sounds like it has been done.
There is also a guy that advertises in the classifieds of "Drive", the hot rod magazine that sold alot of Rover v8s and said he has worked with Renegade for adapter plates. George |

I'm working on an LT1 conversion. It's technically an SBC, but different enough that most people say "it won't fit". Since I'm not done, it probably shouldn't go on the list, but I'll be sure to speak up once it's in. I don't know of anyone else that has completed this particular swap.

I really dont know what the fuss is over an LT1, it is the same engine as a regular 350. The one that is different, is the LS1. It is the newer style engine and it is larger. Maybe I am misinformed, but I had an LT1 in my Trans Am and it is no different than a standard SBC, It had aluminum heads and its the same motor as the Z28 and Corvette. The newer cars now come with the LS1. Different breed. Could someone clarify this for me? Am I wrong? I dont think I am. But it could happen.
I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
