Is this guy serious? This is supposed to be a good running 914?? It's reasonably close... and at this price, I'd be picking up "running" 914s all day.
I'm SURE this guy is full of fecal matter.. but anyone know anything about this car? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ssPageName=WDVW The ad: "as you can see its sitting in the weeds but it is in good shape and runs like a raped ape everything works we took the trunk lid off to paint but ran out of time dont let the weeds fool you this car is still in good shape int is good also there are no dents and i have an axtra bumper THIS IS NOT A PARTS CAR it runs great" Attached image(s) |

Don't want to get torpedoed for "knockin the shit out of" a car I know nothing about, but ya gotta wonder, if the car runs and it's in decent shape, why the hell don't you start it, back it out of the weeds and THEN take a picture?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

Would you trust anyone who tells you his car runs like a raped ape? I'd be afraid to pickup the car based on that comment alone.

You bought another 914? Group: Benefactors Posts: 7,622 Joined: 27-June 03 From: Portage, IN Member No.: 865 Region Association: None |
You never know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
If it is close enough to you, check it out. My Ex's brother found an old VW bus that way. I have no idea what type of bus it is, some 10 window something or other (Can you tell I'm NOT VW bus person) any way long story short. It was on ebay, he went to look at it, same thing bad looking pictures on ebay, weeds and other junk around it. Turned out to be to be this (rare?) VW bus that was very solid, it ran but need a little TLC. He paid $800 for it and I guess it's worth like $10k or something now. Yes, he did dump some $$ in to it but he is still money ahead. |

My first thought was, if it runs "like a raped ape" why not pull it out of the weeds.
Oh well thats just me thinking... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

This guy is just being facetious.
$500 with no reserve is fair for any 914 that is complete. Showing it in the weeds kind of limits the expectations of any potential buyers. I mean, for $500, I would be happy if there wasn't a tree growing thru the floorboards. come on guys. dr |

I emailed the ape...er I mean the seller. He says the car is in tennesee and he lives in indiana. I guess that means the person who took the picture can't drive? <_<
Can't argue much with the price though.... Shannon looking for a good low-rust tub |

It looks like the only place that 914 is running to is the rape crisis center. What is the deal , first you buy the car, he sends the buyer the keys from Indiana and then you have to go to Tenn. and hope you can locate the car in the jungle? He said he was painting the trunk lid and ran out of time, I hate it when that happens. Whoops! Times up, everyone put down their paint gun.

In all seriousness I will agree that $500 is the going rate 'round these here parts for a complete but rusty 914. I think the only problem is we can't see what he has there. Garold if you get more pics from the guy slap them up here will ya? (No I don't want it) |
