Brad, to answer your question....Parents dont ground kids (at least teen agers) anymore... Its more of..

Im going to take this away, You cant do this.. Im going to sell your car...

I've actually gotten the "your not going to drive your car, so I know you'll sell it..." from my mom talking to a friend of hers.... I swear she has no clue.... I've also gotten, the "IF you bla bla bla, Im going to take your car away from you and sell it!"

When in fact, I have bought it completely with my money... every cent in it is mine...

eh.. That woman talks to her the sound of her voice....

What did Birgit get?

Do you need the wing before I leave? Or the 915? I'm available through Friday night to make runs...

Trekkor stops by tomorrow to pick up his new PMS crossbar mount...

Damn.. wish I didn't have so much to do this weekend. I'd do some chassis tuning for you so the car would launch...

B

I appreciate that Brad.

Lately the rear end has been feeling a bit like a rubber band under hard acceleration. (which is basically every light the way I drive)
I suspect something has cracked but I haven't been able to find it. I even see some minor rubs from the inside of the tire on the frame. Something must be moving at least a half inch, sorry, 13mm! Anyway, the wheels seem to be staying on for now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hmmm,

If someone has some relatively narrow 4 bolt wheels with sticky tires I would love to borrow them for a week or two.

I can pull a 1.8 second 60' time if the track is well prepped, which is pretty good, but Woodburn is not a well prepped track. A bit backwoodsy.

I'd even be up to buying some AX tires and wheels for future use if someone has some that will fit under my stock fenders. After all, I figure I'm going to want them for WCC 2005. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I'll stop by and get the wing and tranny. I want to at least get started on the tranny.

Birgit picked up a 73 2.0 last Thursday. She AutoX'd it this past weekend for the first time. I'm pretty sure she will drive it to the breakfast. It is already "setup" for AutoX and TT (the setup actually sucks) but the parts are good. I have to make some serious changes to get the car planted firmly. It belonged to Litko Chan. He runs a 944Turbo now... she almost beat him at Marina (comparing times...LOL)

Otmar,

you cracked the inside control arm ear. Your described the feeling to a TEE. Be VERY careful. I dont want you to put that thing into the guardrail when the control arm breaks free. You have to put some sort of lever on the end of the control arm and try to move it away from the chassis while somebody watches the inner ear. You could have also broken the rubber bushings in the control arm (inside)...

Right on! Take a pic of here new ride if she drives it and say hello for Doris and me. Next year should be fun at the auto-x's and TT's, especially if we get the motorhome.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'll pull the wing off of the car tomorrow and have it ready for you, unless you don't need it until I get back on October 1st.

Lets get the tranny. I shot some pics of her driving it at Marina... but it was her camera. I'll install a 27mm Smart bar this weekend for her. They had a 19mm bar fully maxed out and the nose of the car so far down it had NO front suspension movement. I raised it and made some shock changes AFTER seeing how tail happy the car was at Marina on the Kuhmo's. It came with two sets of tires.. one set of Panosports with Hoosiers and one set of 2.0 Fuchs with Kuhmo's.

Bad news is this could mean a lot out of pocket if I pay to get the A6 prettied up. And if I claim it, my premium will sky rocket.

Jenny,
Sorry to hear that. A couple of months ago my stepson ran into a car with MY van. I paid (out of pocket) Yeaman Auto Body 650-328-8169 to fix the damaged car. At least it was good to meet Scott at the WCC a week prior to the accident!

Yup. When I asked her where she was getting an estimate, and she said "I don't know, maybe the dealership, since I don't know any other places..." I whipped out my handy palm pilot and gave her Scott's info. She still hasn't called me yet... I'm getting worried. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

It's looking positive -- I should be there. Maybe even with a running 914!

I could say expose her to 914's right away to keep the interest alive in the family, but I think she's a little too young to be corrupted by some of the people showing up at the breakfast (cough, Brad). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
