We are returning to Hot Springs for the Mid US 914 Ramble #5...back to the fabulous Lake Hamilton Resort. The dates are October 2-5, 2003. Put that on your calendar. Group room rates at the Lake Hamilton Resort are $69. Call them prior to Sept 2nd at 1.866.712.8606 to reserve a room at this rate. Tell them you are with the "914 SIG" to get the group rate.

We'll get out more information about the events and the registration fee soon... check the 914 Special Interest Group Events Page.

In the meantime, whet your appetite by checking out the LRH Website

It's going to be a GREAT time this year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

If you own a 914.. if you have thought about owning a 914.. this is THE event to attend. Guru's from all over the USA show up for this event to hob knob and knit pick peoples cars to death ..LOL.

It appears because of the lack of job for wifey.. we wont have a Boxster powered 914 for the event.. but I do have plans to bring two factory 9146's to the event...

I know its early... but please start planning now.

All joking about nit-picking aside (except when Brad gets near my /6)... this is the event to make, regardless of the condition of your car.

Even without a 914, you're welcome to join us. For the last few years, we had enthusiasts arrive without their cars, just to enjoy the group and the tech sessions.

Definately worth the drive to make the event... unless you're travelling from further than Egypt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I'm using up all of my vacation to work on the car when it goes into the shop. I'd really like to make it this year, but I don't think it's gonna happen. If it does, it most likely won't be in a 914. Although if mine is finishedby then Charlie might let my car be in the group shot this time. <_<

Kewl! The "Renegade Ramble" used to be held there pretty frequently. I never did get to one of those, but now I'll have a chance to see the place.

I'll agree--it's one of the more fun large-scale 914 events that you'll find. Well worth attending. You do not have to be a PCA member, either.

I may be able to fly in this year. I've wanted to go to one (all) of these events since I first heard of their existance. Perhaps someone could 'sponsor' me because I'd be without p-car...or any car for that matter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

There are usually empty passenger seats for the rally's, tours, etc... I don't think we'll have a problem getting you around! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Dave and Lawrence,(or any else) looking forward to the ramble again. Can't wait. I've already made my reservations. Brian and I promise not to win the rally this year since we know how to do it now!!!

This is an awesome event. everyone with a 914, no matter the condition, should make this trip. We are hoping to bring a few new 914 folks with us this year too.

Since I haven't been before, what nights should I reserve a room for? I don't know when the activities start so I'm not sure what nights to get.

Should I be there on the night of the 1st or do activities start later on the 2nd so I should just come into town then?

Thanks!

We got there on friday afternoon last year(had to work thursday), but will leave tulsa thursday morning and get there in the afternoon. I made reservations for all three nights.

Register your car with the sig and he gets a little more friendly. The sig guys in that area seem to be a little cliquish.

I've known Charlie for a couple of years. I met him at the 2001 MUSR. He comes off that way until you get a feel for him. Although "super friendly" might still be a wee bit of a stretch in my experience.

IIRC -- the 2004 Parade is in TX - and the '05 Parade in right next door to me, in the Central PA Region (same Region that puts on the highly successful Hershey Swapmeet).

i don't think we will be attending the TX Parade next year or the MUSR this year but ya never know...
