what are your drivin habits / techniques?
i have a cam (mixed w/ weber 44's that have slightly too big of idle jets) that the power band is from 1700 - 6000 rpm. has solid lifters etc, sometimes a pain to get off the line...

the plural in the listing refers to the people posting and their "cams".

What kind of other "surprises" might we expect inside the case when doing the cam?

Rust..... just kidding.

Cam/lifters/F+R main seals/cam bearings/oil/filter.

It sounds *tight* I think the bottom end is fine.

Eagle is good.

I have used:

WEB
Engle
Eagle
Crane

WebCam is the only one I have had problems with... but I have also used them the most.

Yes. About 500$ in parts. Typically.. you can reuse the pushrod tube seals and some of the other small ones.

2.0 tin: 150$

The passenger side 2.0 tin is 100$ the drivers side is 50$. A ton of the 2.0 cars had the passenger side tin cut for AirCon. So.. I/everybody who sells parts... gets more for the right side tin piece.

I can repair a 2.0 tin piece cut for AC.. but the time it takes me to do it..... could have bought a good 2.0 piece.

Hey,
Try this link. ImportPerformance.Net
Your in the middle so shipping would be a wash. Cam, lifters and gear you could save 30-40 bucks.

Come to think of it, I think they had them dropshipped from Web. Still save 30-40 bucks

.435 290 252 86a Strong mid range and top end for high performance mech. street engines. Valve springs recommended.
00-232
$155.00

.465 288 244 494 Designed for increased torque with added RPM power. Less top end than the 86a.
00-682
$155.00

My question on the 494 is how much top end do you give up? And how much extra torque will it produce?

What kind of RPM's can we expect from my motor?

Dont expect anything usable over 6k RPM with any of these cams.

I know this is your street car.. so..I'm up for the torque in the mid range and sacrifice the top end (just like a stock cam)... but more torque.

I can save you the few dollars... I think I get everything out the door for 220.00 (with tax and shipping) The springs will be a different story.

This is probably one of those things that whichever way we go I'll be happy,so I'll let you decide.
This car probably won't see more than 4 or 5 de's max, so streetability is the higher concern.

Should I get the heads fixed? (I know the answer)

What is wrong with the heads ?? OH.. YES. The spark plug holes.. I'll try to keep the pain to a minimum.

I picked up the control arm ear today (230$) << OUCH. We will drop the engine/trans on Sunday after I return from LA on Saturday.
