I think I may need a new exhaust for my 73 2.0. Is there a surefire way to tell if the inside of the muffler is functioning properly? My car sat in a garage about 300 yds from the pacific ocean for 17 years. The outside of the muffler looks almost perfect, but I suspect the inside may have rotten away. It seems to be much louder than it should be. If I do need a new muffler, which would you suggest? I would like to keep the stock look, but don't want to fork out the $1000 (as per PP) for the OE. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
