I have a 205B with a leaking cannister.
Searched all over and can.t locate new or other wise. Anybody lnow of a source. Of course new would be best. Tons of SVD'S .....but I want the stock dual advance-retard. Welcome any solutions for a stock Djet setup. |

I've noticed that frequently they leak where the 'nipple' is pressed into the canister. A thorough cleaning and scuffing, followed by encasing the junction in epoxy often solves the leak.

Ah...thanks Mark...that must be it. It was puzzling me that the other side was working fine. I.ll break out the JB weld. |

Followup question:
Does the 205B have the same advance curve as the 205A? Is anyone running one or know? Thanks in Advance. Rob |

A friend came by two weeks ago on the way to Georgia for a 356 rally. His car has a 1,2,3 Distributor. Nice vacuum setup to get good lead off timing and he can tune it with his phone. It's a 356 2056 engine making "decent power". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
This was the 1st one I'd seen in action. http://www.123ignition.nl/products.phtml?brand= |

Yes....I.ve seen those.
I had difficulty on their site for which distributor curve to use. The other....and I hate to say it is the cost. Given that nothing else appears amiss...like to stay with stock for the moment.....but thanks. |

For all the other readers, I too have used the 123Ignition distributor on a few engines and been really happy with the results. My customers and I usually agree that paying the small bump to get the bluetooth tunable distributor is the way to go. That way you can setup the ignition curve to exactly match the stock distributor, or a Mallory w/ Grey-Grey springs, or anything else that you find to work well.
It's not enough of a benefit to throw out a perfectly good distributor, but for larger engines or people who don't already have a working setup, it's a great option, in my experience. |

Given that advice then.....
I.ll see if I can get the can to seal....use the stock distrivutor for initial start up......then possibly switch given the lack of info on this particular one. Kind of cool to be able to change the advance curve that easily which I.m concerned about. Thanks Mark. |

Well I tried the epoxy around the port side of retard side of the vacuum cannister and no joy.
So how can one side hold vacuum and the other side not? Are there two different diaphrams? |

With the d-jet, isn't one port of the canister open to the atmosphere and the other connected to a vacuum source?

Dug up some old threads.
With the 2.0 evidently it depends on the throttle body and yes. From what I read the retard side only and non advance. This may not be a viable solution. On my 73 there is no emission requirement. I would prefer to have control over the advance curve....if not for head temp sake. From what I can tell there are two diaphrams. |

Ok folks....
Seems like the best decision is to go with the 123 distributor. Gonna start a group buy thread if anyone else is interested. Rob |

Last night after an inspection the dizzy I had slated for my project had a missing ground lead. Rusted cetrifical advance..worn trigger points and an unknown advance curve and a non funtional vacuum advance....more than halfway to the 123.

I was looking at the 123 the other day. Not really in the market currently. If I understood everything, the D-jet version is NOT programmable like some of the other models. Big bummer IMO.
