Any suggestions for improving front bumper alignment greatly appreciated. The mounting bolts are fully seated with the appropriate washers/lock washers. Right side is better than the left side; neither are very good. My trusted local body shop declined to try as this is the first 914 they've seen...LOL

Does anyone know where to find bumper spacers of different sizes to use on each mounting bolt?

The bumper spacers need to be installed. Most folks don't even know they are there. You can shim with a stainless washer if you need any adjustment, but shouldn't really need that. You can make your own is you want, but this is what I'm talking about.

The bumper could be tweaked, the front end could be off or both. You never know what’s happened on these 50 year old cars. Sometimes you just have to go to the hardware store and buy enough washers to make it work.
If it was me, I’d remove the bumper, put it on a flat floor and take a good look at both the bumper and the front end. It might reveal a twist that you have to compensate for. A laser level pointed at the front end can also be very telling. |

Your car is a '74 with early bumbers, I believe there's a little sheetmetal that has to be trimmed; I don't recall where exactly, other members have done the mod, braintrust please chime in if i'm incorrect.

the replacement spacers are too hard and do not squeeze down like the originals. All of these bumpers had to be jimmied around with to get a good fit, the harder dog bones can be shaved when you install the bumper pull it up as much as you can and tighten the top bolt first

Mark, your website lists them as a "set of 10", but then defaults to a qty of 10... so assuming I need 10 of these, but when I try to add 10 to the cart it won't let me. Any idea when they'll be back in stock, or do I just go to ACE and find some rubber spacers that fit? |

Also did you install the rubber spacers between the bumper and the rubber bumper pad? |

I suspect there is some poor damage repair.
I'd do as Mark suggested, remove the bumper and evaluate. Clever adjustment can work wonders. Attached thumbnail(s) |
