I took my case to a machinist today, and he stuck a bearing into the center saddle and immediately said "this needs line boring". His method of checking is to see how easily the bearing drops into place. It dropped right into the center saddle.
He said he can get bearings. How popular is align boring right now? I see two opinions in the forums - A. No, find another case. B. Yes, 75% of cases need it now anyway. Oh and then Jake talks about main bearing saddles collapsing which scares me even more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Should I take the case to someone who will actually mike it once it's torqued together? |
