Selling the car I picked up a few years ago. I've put a fair amount of work into this car and just had Bill Whitesides get some final issues resolved.

I'll start by listing the original ad (as it appeared on world...Original ad). This was the car as purchased by another forum member. I bought it from him with the 2.7 CIS installed.

I'll list the specs of the car (modifying the description to show things that have changed) and then list the recent work:

1972 Irish Green. Originally Irish Green, painted yellow at some point in its life, then painted back to Irish Green.
There is no rust on this car that I have seen and neither has Bill W (who dropped the engine and been all through the car inside and out..... he has seen everything there is to see).
I don't believe the car has ever been hit. The front trunk pan has some minor damage by either running over something or an idiot with a jack.
The paint is decent but has several small "bubbles" on the hood and several other flat surfaces from poor paint prep. I can't get them to show in a picture. Paint is pretty good and a good buffing would do wonders.
Interior is very clean. The car has the very hard to find dark brown interior. Seats are good and dash is uncracked. Carpet is new. Everything works (except for heat...because, you know...headers) including the clock.
Car runs and drives very well.

2.7L 911 CIS 6 cylinder engine with a 73 7R case
Stainless steel brake lines
Cross drilled and vented brakes
5 bolt Fuchs Alloys 6 x 16 with four year old Pirelli CINTURATO P7 205/55R16 and a Fuchs 6x16 spare
Sway Bars front and rear
Side shift transmission and shift mechanism
19 mm 911 Master cylinder
M calipers front .
Widened calipers rear with handbrake functional .
New Brake pads front and rear
New Bilstein front inserts ( shocks )
New Ball joints
New rear shocks Boge and springs #140 lbs
New Speedo Cable and Angle Drive
New Carpets
New Seat Belts ( and retractors )
New Fuel Pump ( relocated to front trunk )
Center Console with Gauges
911 oil pressure /oil temp gauge
Porsche Oil tank
New inner and outer rockers

After I bought the car in 2015, I took it to Series 9 in DeLand Florida where Joe
- resealed the engine
- installed stainless steel fuel lines in the tunnel
- installed a Bob Saville Naro engine mount
- Installed MSD 6AC ignition

I drove the car sparingly (too many other cars to drive). Plus, the transmission was well worn and I really didn't enjoy driving it that much. So, I had Dr. Evil build me a new transmission. That takes us to the present. I took the car to Bill W and he did the following:
- Remove and replace transmission
- Drop engine and replace alternator ($379 for alternator)
- Replace shifter assembly
- Weld broken clutch tube
- Rebuild pedal cluster
- Replace clutch cable
- Change oil, replace warped oil sump plate
- Four wheel laser alignment

So, if you made it this far, you know the history of the car. Why am I selling? You may have seen my previous posts that Marathon Blue is my favorite color. I have everything needed to build a 6 conversion (including a '74 in Marathon blue). So, I'm going to build my own.

Price is $22,000 obo.

Do you have any pixs of the "Hellhole"? How many miles do you approximate are on the motor?

The picture of the hell hole is just below the picture of the engine. No rust.

No idea of mileage. Series 9 did a compression check when the car was there and the numbers were excellent. I’ll look for the email from Joe where he listed them or maybe he can chime in.

There probably hasn’t been a couple hundred miles added to the car since Joe resealed the engine.

Did that belong to Jason Panciera? Part of the wiring looks familiar.

Did they do a leak down on the motor? That will give a better indication of health. Looks really great BTW.

No....don't think so. I bought from Kirk R and before that the car came from Tom D in Canada

Bill is one of those guys that I would buy a car from on his word alone because I know it would be as described or better.

Thank you, Mark. I try to be thorough in my description. But, would hope people will do their own diligence. The car isn't 100% perfect (if it was it would be a lot more) but is a super solid car that runs and drives great. After having owned well over 20 914's since 2011 I'm starting learn something about them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

Everyone has a different perception of condition. That's why I encourage people to come see the car or call Bill Whiteside (username: adidas) and get his take. He thinks the car is great and I should ask more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm leaning towards selling through BaT exclusively. I just sold one of my Corvairs (64 Spyder) on there for much more than I expected. The buyer even left a nice comment a few days ago about how much they like the car. But, it takes a while to get a car listed on BaT. So, in the interim I figured I would see if my fellow forum members are interested.

I'll get some pictures over the weekend. I'm going to one of my farms tomorrow and won't be back until Saturday evening. I may take some video as well in preparation for submitting to BaT. If I do, I'll post a link to that, too.

I appreciate the tremendous response I have had so far. Maybe I priced too low? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Anyway, the car is sold pending funds. If the situation changes I'll update accordingly.

Thank you

Yup priced way too low but you are building a 74 Marathon blue conversion (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
If it does not sell I know a guy in Chicago who is looking for something just like that! at that price (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I think people come out of the gate way too high and it prolongs the process. You started at a realistic number.

+1

If you are going to sell it just price it to sell.

Well done and move on!

Too True I just thought it would be a little more; I tried to buy it when it was in Canada, but to get it into Calif ...?...
even though it was a 72, but I have since acquired my dream car

Bill Good luck with the sale and like I said if it falls thru I possibly have some one who would take good care of it!

At this point the sale appears to be going through. However, the buyer is nervous from having been scammed previously. He's being extra cautious because he's new to the forum and is concerned the car doesn't exist. I think it's somewhat amusing because as many people who know me and/or have seen this car this it isn't like a random car on a craigslist ad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) But, I do understand his fears.

He seems like a good guy but he may get cold feet. If he does, I'll let everyone know. Although, I'll probably just go straight to BaT if that happens.

Thank you for your continued interest.
