Hi All I am looking for the original engine and trans for my 914/6 please. It is an early car (January 1970). Engine was 6404124, transmission 7500225 Any insight would be appreciated.. Thanks Andy I have an advert from 2007 that has this engine number in it. The following was found on the Automobile Atlanta web site 24 November 2007. The SN was listed as 9140431142 please call 770-427-2844 ext. 16 or email for more information -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best buy on the web on this rapidly appreciating classic and brought to you by 914 world headquarters. We know these cars! We have been after this car for over two years! Very straight and runs really great, we picked it up and drove it over 700 miles! When we got it back to the shop we thoroughly checked it out and did a few things including check the compression which is over 168 pounds per cylinder, and the car behaves like it has great compression! It is very fast. We rebuilt the pedal cluster bled the brakes checked all systems. The car has fresh oil and needs now, nothing mechanically so depend on driving this home at any speed you can get away with! The original owner even thought enough to convert the original transmission to side shift so the very smooth scratch free shifting is superb! Notice also how perfect the heat exchangers are so depend on hot heat Even the emergency brake works properly! You will love driving this car. The interior is very clean and although it needs a repaint the finish still shines enough to tolerate as a driver. The bumpers as well are straight and nice along with the top seals. Now the bad news: as you can see by the pictures this car was long ago damaged in the front end and is a little crusty. The many many detailed pictures tell the story. There is nothing that needs heavy rust repair, and even the battery tray as you can see stands straight and true. Dr. 914 says that he would drive and enjoy the car just as is and NEVER get into a restoration project with this one unless he just wants to do it for fun! Please do not hesitate to call for a detailed once around the car for any one who is a serious buyer. We know this one will not last for long, so do not be disappointed, make your deal today! We ship worldwide, and have a good deal to Germany or Belgium. We also speak French German and Dutch (and Flemish) and Spanish for anyone of you who only speak those languages! The car has matching serial numbers on its engine - #6404124, built to 2.4 specs. |
