I forgot it has been so long since I used this blog.

Goals:

Simple have fun, to me as I get older, fun becomes more important. Not sure why, but I want to go out and play. I have always like auto-x, I got this 914-4 right after my daughter was born, in 1993. After a long search to find a reasonably rust free chassis. I did, I had to replace battery tray, and support, and engine shelf, but the rest was clean.

I have had several engines in these car, 4 versions of suspensions, 2 interiors, 7 sets of wheels, etc....

So now I have become more focused also.

I started auto-xing it in NASA TTE class, and have been moderately successful, with it.

Problems, suspension has too much roll, lifts the rear wheel, but I can still run in the top 2-3 in my class. I am no where near FTD times.

Solution to the above.

Bigger front sway bar, new suspension bushings, adjustable spring perches, and chassis stiffening. I have a GT kit installed on the rear, did it a long time ago. I am adding the Egmann Log kit, and rear arm ear stiffening. I am still undecided on the cage.

Oh and I have to drop the engine, after the last auto-x I was at I developed a small oil leak looks like it is from the oil cooler / oil filter area. I was unsuccesful at fixing it while it was in the car.
