My First 914 back in 1979 (RIP)
2.4 liter big four with Webers


Current 914
1975 first converted to a six in 1987 with a 2.7, webers, header, etc.
Yes, that's me and my future wife back in 1989. I met her cruising Pacific Avenue in Stockton in this car.


1999, the 2.7 started pulling headstuds. I upgraded the motor to a Euro stock 3.2 and put bigger wheels in the back.


2005, sold car to Sandy, who raced it for four years in POC.


2009, bought car back


2017, converted to street with chrome bumpers and 916 Trans


2019 painted Alaska Blue Metalic

The carpeted trunk board goes over the shroud and condenser. I also drilled holes in the front spoiler to direct air over the condensor. So far it blows cold and then the amps go over 100 amps and blows the breaker. 914toy is running the same evaporator horizontal under the dash and his works fine. He also has 3 condensers. One in front and one installed with fans in each rear fender. Hopefully I will have time this summer to get mine working.

Note: The Martin Bott 916 kit requires a shop with experience to install it. I wasted money on two known Porsche shops with extensive 915 trans experience and they could not make it shift right. Only Patrick Motorsports in Phoenix Arizona was able to get it to shift right!! I drove my car 6+ hours over to PMS, so they could install there shift linkage and go through the trans to get it to shift right. You might get away with just shipping your 915 trans over to them and have them install the Martin Bott kit. They also sell the kit. I would also recommend the PMS shift linkage and associated clutch parts, etc.

Was on the road by January 1987 with a 2.7 motor, stock trans, New PMO 40IDA3C Webers, MSDS headers, motor mount and muffler. Not too many 75 big bumper narrow body 914 six conversions at the time. I surprised a lot of 911's and 928's with this car. By 2000 the 2.7 started pulling head studs and at the time it was cheaper to buy a used 3.2 than to overhaul the 2.7.
