EV in the works...

Update for the end of '06:
"71 has the same old pads on the A calipers, they seem to have seated in now. I should put the new ones in around January. This has been my DD for several months now due to dropping the ICE out of my '74 to convert it to a Battery Electric Vehicle. A few delays in securing parts has me looking at suspension and brakes while I'm waiting. So far I have a nice AC motor and controller, waiting on the tranny adapter, motor mounts, cabling, charger ,DC-DC converter and instrumentation to arrive. Spending time getting the battery racks built up welder.gif and building a heater, and enjoying the rain.beer3.gif
We put 3KW of solar panels on the roof in October, PG&E just signed off on it and installed a time-of-day net meter, so once the EV is charging, I may see an increase in electrical use, but the bill should not go above where it was last year. For now it's actually gone down... Averaging 1KWH per hour of sunshine in the winter is not too bad, summer is gonna be great! bootyshake.gifflipa.gif Take that all you oil guzzlers!Attached Image
