One last bench to do, then I'm done.

12-15-2007 Working on my shop

I started on installing the stainless benchtops that I have had sitting around for over a year.

The first bench (16'-0" LG) is done.

I ended up screwing the stainless down with countersunk stainless screws, then grinding the heads to be perfectly flush with the surface.

These pics show the first (2) stainless tops on the first bench. I have (4) more tops to install.

I hope to get the remaining tops installed this winter (hopefully before January, but everyone who has projects and kids know how that goes).....

Today I took a couple pics of my car to post on here.

I like the 7X15 wheels on it.

I installed my windshield to top seal the other day it took about 1/2 hour total. I used plenty of temporary rubber lubricant (P-80 rubber lubricant).

Here is a couple pics of the engine lid installed as well as a couple shots of the 3.2 in the car.

I still need to pull the engine to fix a couple oil leaks (timing chain covers leak at interface to cam carriers).

I finally did something to my car (well almost).

I created my version of a double grill engine lid.

I bought new letters and the new grill seal (between the grills). I modified the lid several months ago, but only now got around to completing it. I will mount it this weekend and post a couple more pics with the lid installed

07-15 & 16 2006

I rebled my brakes and now have a decent pedal (those proportioning valves must trap air somehow and seem to be a PITA to bleed).

I had the car running and had the muffler on but after looking at it this last week, I decided that it was too rusty to leave alone. I removed it and sandblasted it outside in the driveway (it was too large for my blast cabinet). This was the last time I will ever sand blast something outside of a cabinet. I'm still trying to get the sand off/out of me.

I sprayed the muffler high temp black and reinstalled it.

After getting the muffler on it, I lowered it to the floor for the first time since February.

Since the car was on the ground, I just had to drive it, so I got the steering wheel installed and drove it up and down my street.

First time it moved under its own power with it's new 3.2 powerplant.

I think it just may be a keeper.

I am finally down to the last thing..... The tripple combo gauge.

Stay tuned for some pics of the completed (or almost completed) project.

I fired up the 3.2 today. It was the first time the car has run since February when I started this project.

It has taken longer than anticipated, but the car should be driving by the end of the week. I hope to have the bi-annual inspection done either this week or next so I can get current plates for the car and drive it this summer.

I had forgotten how well I like the sound of a 3.2 with the triad exhaust.

I should buy a new one and send it out to JetHot..........

I mounted tires on my black rims and found 4 center caps for them (thanks Dad).

I am waiting for my accelerator pedal to show up (expected 07-11), and it will be virtually ready to drive.

I'll take some pics tomorow night....

06-29 to 07-08 2006

I was busy completing my checklist and took no pictures, but I:

Painted and installed the shift rod
Installed my interior (less accelerator pedal, driver seat, driver carpet)
Installed my rebuilt 19mm master cylinder
Plumbed and blead my brakes
Packed and installed my 911 CV joints on 914-6 axle shafts
Filled the transmission with gear lube
filled the oil tank with oil
Installed a new battery in the marine case up front
Installed the throttle cable (914-4) and set up my custom linkage
Fabricated and installed a relocated AFM bracket to keep the original engine lid latch
Painted the bellypan of the car (POR-15 and Rustoleum)
Re-bled the brakes (those rear proportioning valves trap air)
Installed starter and terminated the starter wiring
Terminated the Backup light switch wires

Basically I got the car ready to fire up.

I painted the wheels.

I Revcieved my headers back from JetHot (They look real good almost chrome-like).

I fitted my shift rod (absolutely straight as an arrow no matter what you read).
