I picked up the case, heads and crankshaft from the machine shop yesterday and mounted the case on the engine stand.

The hub finally came off with a surprising amount of energy in the release. The hub bolt and washer were turned in (but not enough to tighten against the hub) in case the hub sprang off with enough energy to shoot it as a projectile, this acted like a teather and there was an audible "tink" when the hub popped off.
