Looking at possible damage

The German car maker says it has encountered a problem with the oil pump in its 2013 M5 sedan and M6 Coupe and Convertible designs. Acting proactively, it has halted the shipping and sales of the automobiles. In the meantime, it will be issuing a recall for those that have currently been delivered.

The automobile could instantly lose oil pressure and cause a lot of motor damage if the drive shaft separates from the rotor in the engine oil pumps. This may take place in the car, according to BMW.

Followers have currently reported some motor failure in the car, according to Torque News.

All automobiles were built between July and September 2012 if they are impacted M5 and M6 designs. The motor in the affected automobiles is a S63TU turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 with 501lb-ft of torque and 560 hp.

It is not known how many vehicles are impacted presently, but the VIN numbers are being compiled by the car manufacturers.

Owners are likely going to have to wait quite a long time before their $100,000 automobiles are up and running again if this is the case.
