These photo taken in my garage where for a application to a car show. This show is this Aug and is an invite only show. This spring we were at local Porsche dealers show. While there a guy came up to me, he had a lot of question about the car. He was the Porsche rep for the mid west. He suggested I apply for this show, thought we'd do well.

http://www.genevaconcours.com/

We got our acceptance letter the other day! Not sure how we will do with some many different types of cars.

Hi Kelly,

Your car is beautiful, I remember when it arrived at our MidWest Meet in 2004. I wish I had taken more pictures. Here's the only ones I have of your beautiful 914.

Your 914 is awsome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Hi Kelly,

Our local group is in limbo waiting for fresh leadership. Everyone is too busy to take over at this time, including myself. We had between (50) & (60) 914's at our 2004 event. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) The midwest has some of the finest 914 in all 914 land. The 2004 event was a huge success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) & there will be future Midwest events. Your 914 is a beautiful car & I congratulate you in traveling to so many events. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

The Ohio Oxford event is a great Porsche gathering. I can't make it this year. I have a family reunion in Northern MI that week & family comes first. Sooo much to do, sooo little time. Travel safe.

Tom
Kelly BTW: Seems to me I remember a rumor about your 914?? The rumor floating around that your car was hot dipped galvanized prior to it's finish???
How do these rumor's get started (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ????? What's the real story???

It was supposed to have been, but wasn't. It has taken until this year to get that resolved. This winter the car will be redone. This time it will be E coated. This is the place doing it, http://www.precisionresto.com/restoprocess/ecoating.html My local body shop will paint it again. It took so long, because I didn't think I should have to pay for it. Well everyone has seen the light. If everything goes to plan the re redoing the car should start this Oct.

A superb car Kelly and we admire your persistence in displaying it.

Hot dipping a car? For real? I have seen thin gage metal hot dipped before, its not pretty. The process warps dramatically and I think hot dipping would destroy the metalwork. Even if it were possible, then there is the issue of paint adherence...

The car will E coated, not hot dipped. E coating is the same thing they do to new cars.
QUOTE
The process begins by washing the vehicle then immersing it into a vat of rust inhibitor. Then Electro-Coating the vehicle by immersing it into a waterborne solution, containing paint, and then electrically applying the paint coating based on the principle that opposites attract. The paint and the vehicle to be coated are given opposite charges. The paint is literally driven onto the vehicle by the DC charge, which causes the paint to consistently plate both exposed and hidden surfaces resulting in a high quality, corrision-resistant finish. After the coated substrates have been rinsed, they are then baked to cure and cross-link the coating. The vehicle is baked between 15-60 minutes at 250 to 375 degrees.

The dinner before the show is 200.00 a plate. Plus it's black tie! I think the kid and I will skip the dinner. I wonder how the tux's would look after jammed in the trunk for 9hrs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm amazed at the amount of money this event spent on the welcome packets!

Kelly,
I can't dispute the cleanliness, the execution, the presentation and the excellence of your 914, but I'll take issue with your geography. You were in Columbus INDIANA. Doug and his fellow Hoosiers deserve credit there, as well as the wonderful town of Columbus Indiana and the environs surrounding it.
Kelly, did your Nav system go south on you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)
