>Can the return line go in the top of the tank?
On other cars being retrofitted with EFI, they run the return line into an adapter that goes in the filler hose. Of course that wouldn't work on a 914. 914's already have the return fittings anyways, so I can't see why one would need to run it to the top of the tank. There is some advantage to having the return line close to the pickup so that you don't circulate the entire contents of the gas tank and heat up all of the fuel. >Did you weld the male AN fitting to the existing fuel tank outlet after cleaning? I welded them on before having the tank cleaned. There is another thread with pictures of that. >Looking at your distributor it looks like it could be a tooth or 2 off on your timing. It seemed to be OK when I checked it with my timing light. The previous owner had the flywheel marked at TDC. I replaced the vacuum/mechanical advance distributor with a computer controlled distributor. |
