You dont need one for just the 1st gear slider necessarily, but I do have one. I also have a mean set of ring pliers.

I asked because I knew you were dealing w/ trans. I would do it myself but with change in marital status there is no place for me to work on it locally. The car and trans are at my moms. Also money is an issue right now for me(see change in marital status) and not having anyone here local is a problem. I can get someone to reassemble it but it would cost 6 bills and that is more than I have at the moment. Why cant we have a place like Skline garage here on the east coast.

Welby,
Sorry to hear about your marital statis reconfiguration. I too am not in a place where I can be as abiding as I used to be. I am actually in medical school right now and my days consist of M-Th 8am-12am, F 8am-5pm, Sat sometimes free, Sun 10am-12am. As you can see I have no "free" time. This coming 17th is something that I have had to rearrange things around for in a serious way. If you PM me I would be glad to work something out with you on price, time, etc. Some things are flexible, it all depends on your tolerances. If you get a palce to do it and need tech help you can PM me also. If there is no rush, I will still be around for the next 4 years. Relax, don't hurry, don't worry. You will live longer. Not too many have had to cancel so we should have a nice size group. Keep my cell handy and call me (or e-mail me) if you need any help with directions.

I'll be at the start of my driveway, at 10:30'ish, to help with parking.

Slight hijack for NoVa caravan information:

The plan is to meet up in the Tyson's Corner area Sat AM around 7:30 with the roll-out to PA for ~ 7:45 or so. We can meet in the back parking lot of the Silver Diner. I wasn't planning on that being a meal stop but I can be there at 0630 if anyone wants to put the feedbag on.

After picking up Scott in the Whitemarsh area north of Baltimore we'll exit I-95 north of Aberdeen at Rising Sun to head west over to Rt. 1. It's a nice drive from there to Kennett Square. I did a Google Map plot of the Kennett Square area (www.maps.google.com) using Kerry's address and his e-mail has the directions from Rt 1 as well.

We should meet Scott at around 9:00 if you're coming from west of Baltimore and want to tag along. Scott can tell us if there's a convenient location there to rendezvous.

I've got walkie talkies and will bring them. If yours are like mine, they have the channel and subchannel. I thought 9-14 would be a good selection, no? If they're the kind without a sub-channel we can all set to Ch 9. Folks with the subchannel feature will have to remember to set that to 0 so everyone can talk with everyone else. Ask me how I learned this...

Remember you'll need toll money for the Baltimore tunnel and Aberdeen tolls. I don't recall the amount but $10-15 should cover the round trip. If you have SpeedPass I think it'll work at the toll plazas.

Hagerstown here... thinking that we'd leave about 7:00 to get to White Marsh at 9:00... we'd be happy to pick up any caravaners from the I-70 corridor.

Unfortunately we won't be in a Porsche... but we won't be in a Neon either! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

can i get a set of directions too?
and a time Wednesday or Thursday when it would be good for me to come pick up a Tee so i can wear it to/at the ECR.

and - i know this should go in the want ads (and it will, soon...) but i have an AutoPower roll bar with removable Petty strut for sale if anyone wants me to bring it to Kerry's (or the ECR, if anybody from that event is following this thread...) for onsite delivery (i won't ship it...)

was modified -at/by AutoPower- to add diagonal beams from about halfway up the hoop to the door sill. i suppose it would add some side-intrusion protection but i had it done to provide handholds to ease egress from the deep Corbeau seats i installed... never installed, never used. no mounting hardware - that stuff got lost a few moves ago...

hey scott, ken and caroline are coming down rt 70 from hagerstown and asked about where we can all meet. do you have a meeting place suggestion? john noted we'd meet you at 9 at white marsh but that's on the east side of baltimore.

can you post some info so ken and caroline can join you near where you will be leaving from home?

you can email me anytime tonight if you want ken's cell #.
