Talked to the Boss, pending unforseen circumstances we'll be there. Hope to see you at Hershey in April.

Hey guys (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

If you haven't received an e-mail from me today and plan on attending this summer/fall please let me know.. Kerrys914@yahoo.com

I am getting a head count for a small meeting/lunch in Hershey (April 23rd) to say hi and maybe talk about the event and its planning.

I need a head count soon to give to the Restaurant. It will be very informal and no set agenda other then the above (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Hey all (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) - I see that your event is on the same weekend as our East Coast Ramble. I tried to do it in June - but all the motels in the Manchester, Vermont areas are booked for various events. Last year we had a great group at Sturbridge, MA and this year I hope to have a very large contingent for the ECR AND it would be even bigger if your group could make it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Here is the latest news -

Welcome to the 2005 ECR!
Some of you may not know how this event started, so please allow me a few lines to give you a brief history. In early 1997 Ed Villela and John Dunkle of www.rennlist.com fame, began restoring their 914’s. They found each other on the 914 list as they were both faced with major rust issues in their restorations, welding on flares, stripping and painting their “teeners”, looking for parts, installing and trying to start their engines. As it turns out their paths had previously crossed as Ed’s father was once John’s boss at the Philip A. Hunt Company in New Jersey and John remembers his boss’s annoying son visiting the offices. After a full year of commiserating on their restoration projects they agreed to meet in Virginia Beach to show each other their accomplishments. Every year since, the two have gotten together to show off their projects, share their garage stories and drink beer. Every year they would invite all other 914 owners and Porsche owners to join in the fun and relaxing weekend.
This will be the 8th ECR. Past locations were:
#1 1998 – Virginia Beach, VA #2 1999 – Woodstock, CT
#3 2000 – Lenox, MA #4 2001 – Seneca Lake/Watkins Glen, NY
#5 2002 – Quebec, Canada #6 2003 – Manchester, VT
#7 2004 – Sturbridge, MA
The ECR has grown much over the years and as each event unfolds, we get to see new faces and Porsches. This year should be no different. It is “you” that makes this event special and we hope we all have a chance to meet one another.
This years ECR planning is taking shape and the following is confirmed:
DATES: September 16-18, 2005
LOCATION: Manchester, Vermont
RESORT: Palmer House - http://www.palmerhouse.com
RATES: Single Occupancy: $90.00/night
Double Occupancy: $120.00/night
Deluxe Suite: $190.00/night (double or single).
The rates above are only for our group and you must refer to "HARTMANN'S PORSCHE GROUP" when calling for reservations. I have 20 rooms on hold, first come - first served! Earlier arrival or later departures are no problem and will be at the same rates. I am working on a complete weekend special, which will include a banquet dinner. ACTIVITIES: Most of the activities are in the planning stages, but here is a short overview of what you can expect:
1. Friday night BBQ under the tent near the outdoor pool. Beer/wine/etc to be worked out. Dancing/Drinking/Yakking under the stars until?
2. Saturday - breakfast at the resort, possible wash and shine (the resort has a free car wash area - just bring your car)
3. Saturday - scenic drive with plenty of curves - (the road that is) and poker run
4. Saturday - shopping at the OUTLET centers. See http://www.manchestervermont.com/
5. Saturday - golfing/fishing/indoor pool/outdoor pool
6. Saturday - Dinner banquet with guest speaker.
7. Saturday - Dancing/Drinking/Yakking under the stars until?
8. Sunday - drive up to top of Mt. Equinox http://www.equinoxmountain.com/
9. Sunday - lunch and departure.

By the time you receive this letter you may have already reserved your room. Or you still are deciding whether or not you will join us for the 2005 ECR. Your commitment to attend may be early, however an early reservation at the resort (cancellations are not a problem) and a short note to me so that proper planning can be made would be appreciated. If I can provide you with any “references” as to previous event enjoyment factors or answer any questions, I invite you to contact me anytime.
Home Phone: 518-563-6624
Cell Phone: 518-569-7642
Or email me @ rhartmann@charter.net looking forward to hearing from you - 

Best regards,

Hey Kerry,

I'm going to try like hell to make it up there, assuming that we can get Babydoll roadworthy by then. Pencil me in for 2 people.

BTW, that's Babydoll in the Richmond picture. The white beauty with the black bra and black/white Virginia tags.
