I want to see some more pics of Michel Richard's 914 -looks like Ravenna Green -one of my favourite colours.

Ask an Irishman if he wants another pint.

Ravenna green car is new to me. About a month and half at this point, so I don't have a ton of pictures.

I got the car just before the 2004 East Coast Ramble and broke a CV joint while getting to the event. As a result, there were several pictures of my car taken there.

Dan.... On a Six it saves you from having to pull the motor to access the Fan / belt...
I recently had to replace the Alternator and was able to do it without droping the motor. Got access to the belt and shims from the Firewall hole. and pulled the carbs to get at the fan Housing. There is always a big debate if this should be done or not but I say fo a six its the way to go

Going for record quotes here:

Hmm, I have built 5-6 914-6 conversions, replaced 4 914-6 alternators, never needed the "hole".

What I usually do is make a single cut along the fiberglass shroud. I found a special "H" shaped gasket that will allow you to remove this part of the shroud anytime you like. No more dropping engines, cutting up the car or removing the shroud. Easy stuff. I can see about posting some pics if people would like to see? Just preferance I guess, but I would rather put a cut in the fiberglass shroud than multiple cuts in the steel of the car.

Nice idea though. Oh, I mark my flywheels for timing, adjusting valves etc.....

BTW - very nice engine bay! Mine sucks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Joe A,

Where's your battery, man ?

Michel Richard

p.s. I had the firewall hole in the pale-ivory car, I'm trying to do without it in the Ravenna-green one. I did have to cut a very small access hole to be able to adjust the MFI idle screw, but it's very small. I'd love to learn how to swap fanbelts without the hole. Factory sixes did not have one.

Those are some F'in nice engine bays.

Thanks for the nice comments on mine, but mine is obviously one of many.

URY914,

That's a nice option on that engine block. Mine didn't come with that, but it would make checking up on rod bearings very easy.
