It was an exciting day for me as I finally got to bring my car home from the body shop where it has been for too long. I'm pleased with the results and anxious to get started on the reassembly.

Oh my goodness, what a great color! I looked to see if the trees were also blown out bright green. No they are not, that green is that bright. That is wonderful (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Congrads -- The bright green looks great on these cars with the contrasting black.

Looks great so far

Beautiful November day, 77* and sunny. Bo dog and I put another30 miles or so on the 914. Looks like I can trust the rebuilt alternator for longer drives. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Not a bad idea to keep a set of jumpers in the trunk. Is she reading 13 - 15v when running?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif)
I have a set of jumper cables coiled inside the spare. And yes, about 13.4 - 13.5 at the battery when running with the solid state regulator. Slightly higher with the old school voltage regulator, but that one gets pretty warm.

Back to the front bumper. Thank God the car came with painted bumpers, they’ll stay that way. Filler is my friend.

Motor is mounted!
Happy with the stance, exhaust and muffler will add a few more pounds once installed. Be back at it in a couple of weeks...

Attempt number two: I have a piece of 1.5" dia, 1/4" wall, 1" ID DOM tubing coming to weld to the top of the tool so it will slip on at the top of the press.

wasn't today but last sunday ,been wanting to quiet down squeaks from my very stiff bilstien front and rear suspension and clanking noise from engine compartment with T4 engine and tangerine header . The doors had previously been lined with TexMatt but wasn't nearly enuf. Added the hush mat brand and silver engine firewall covering , shown here, made a nite and day difference to the ride. Zero squeaks from the suspension and smooth tone coming in from the engine compartment. The one box and sheet of silver from Hoome Depot online was exactly enuf to cover floorboards and engine compartment firewall and targa headliner top. covered that with a sheet of 914 rubber flannel stuff. Looks good. Less than $90 from home depot. Material very easy to cut to fit .
