I was going fiberglass but I was offered such a good deal on steel I couldn't say no. Just by cutting I was able to get everything to line up. Next I add sheetmetal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) What size wheels and tires are you putting on that bad boy? It looks like they are gonna be massive. |

It is a 2056 with a Raby 9590 cam and aftermarket EFI. Waiting on an oil temp sender, an alternator belt, and the whole aftermarket EFI system. I am going put it on a test stand and run it so I can verify no oil leaks, and get the throttle bodies synced. Then it gets shipped to Alabama. |

Engine looks clean but I don't think anyone has been in it since the 1970s. Originally Mag 1970 2.2 case with no modifications. The components look good but it was time for it to come apart. Some significant wear on the crank and intermediate shaft bearings. And it looks like some valve seat issues are causing the low compression on cylinder #1. Case will go out the Ollies and I'll wait. Time to consider how best to modify the 2.2 liter engine. Perhaps take it to a 2.5? If you have such experience please PM me your observations on what's best. 95% street car, with 5% Lime Rock. It's a very light car, but I think I prefer low end grunt over top end given the twisty little roads where I live. Thanks, John Attached image(s) |

But I have lots of stuff to tackle and finally fixed some simple stuff that was rattling horribly: Loose rear-view mirror, loose left rocker cover, and loose fastener on the custom targa top. Next I finally need to finish up the replacement fire system install. |

I take it will be at least a 10 inches wheel 8s fit perfect with the stock GT flair I had 11s on a custom GT body back in the 70s on a v8 car I like your work on this. Best Bob B |

Best Bob B [/quote] Thank you for the kind words. 8”’s all around with 225’s at each corner. Wide and low. If I add more horsepower I do have room for bigger shoes |

Member No.: 1,143 Region Association: NineFourteenerVille | Clay,, what FI are you putting together? what ECU and sensors, intake, throttle body etc? Phil Zims FI Kit. It was developed by @partsguy22 , with some help from me. The kit is on hold right now due to the manifolds being on backorder. I will post pictures of it once it is installed on the motor. I have already installed one of these kits. It is really nicely done. It reuses the factory relay board for ECU power and Fuel pump control. This is a picture of it installed on the 914 belonging to @scottthephotog It is based on Microsquirt. If you send Zims the displacement and camshaft in your engine, they can get you a fuel map that will be about 80 to 90% compatible, and will make the car drivable. But it is recommended that you take it to a dyno after installation to get the most out of it. They can also make a kit that uses the stock intake, throttle body and air cleaner if you want to keep it stock appearing. It will improve drivability, but limit the horsepower output due to the smaller throttle body surface. |

Thanks, John I have little experience with the early mag cases, but I did have good luck with my 2.7 (7R) going to Ollies. Great service and great product. A few extra cc's never hurt anyone, my gut would say to open her up a bit |
