Last week I pulled off the outer rocker panels which were rusted and dinged up as well as full of dried mud, sand etc. Today I cleaned everything up so I could get some photos before putting on the new panels. The metal behind the jack plate although rusty is solid (a screw driver does not go through it). The hell hole only has slight surface rust. Hoping I can just treat the metal and put the panels back on. Is that wishful thinking?Attached Image Attached Image

I would at least patch the lower part as they rot out when the drain holes get blocked in that area but be aware they rust from the inside out ,cheers.

I had a Subaru performance shop build my EG33 long block, now I'm assembling the rest and should have it back in the car next week, hopefully running by the end of the week.

All these pix of the rockers, etc. remind me of when I got my '71 - it was my only car, and I had to drive it in Iowa winters. Took off the rockers 2 or 3 times a winter and cleaned everything out. Guess it helped as the car still has it's original longitudionals after almost 55 years. Getting a '66 beetle as my DD after 4 years also helped!!

I'm working on the wiring. Can't get the turn indicators in the tach to flash correctly! No flash on left, both flash on right?! My wiring diagram is for a '73, mine's a'74.
Ideas?

Only one green light in the tach for both sides.

Somebody probably replaced the tach in the past with a 73 or earlier tach. You need to find a 74-76 tach. It only has one light for the turn signals.

Toyo Proxes R1R.
They have the best wet traction I have found for street legal race tires. YMMV

My friend Tommy stopped by and took a peek at HOWARD's issue(s) and said he'd like to tackle it.

I called Bruce Stone and asked if he had a spare L/R trailing arm to replace the 'bent' one, and met up with him at Callas Rennsport a couple days ago.

De-greased it and shot some black primer on it ...

... then we'll jack HOWARD up, remove the bent arm, swap all the necessary parts and install it to see if it cures the issue (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Do you have enough parts to put it back together. That would be nice, but you know you can still come on the runs with the local guys.

Mark, I have a sideshift engine support bar if you need one. You will have to stop by and get it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif)

I had budgeted for a MSDS header for this build. Coveted these since 2017-18. I ordered the 1.65" ceramic coated header today for my car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

One last test drive and fill up before putting the six on the car hauler for the long drive to Winslow AZ to meet the Rt. 66 group. Surely it will be an adventure. I hope it proves to be a fun one.
