That is exactly what it is. So much quieter than my Anza. And it looks good to me. I put a Borla system on my brothers Jeep and it sounded like an old Alfa Romeo. Great sound.

That’s so funny…I built a stainless steel borla exhaust on my 72CJ5 that I built about 10 years ago. It was my first build that I did everything on from top to bottom. Took me 3 years to do it. It was a total rust bucket with volleyball size rust holes in the bed and the engine and trans was in buckets in the back of it. The flow master exhaust I put ion it originally rusted out so I built this one about a year ago. I LOVE the sound of it! This is why I wanted to try it on my 914.

Now a days I need an elevated staging site. I sat the exhaust on those first. Very handy

Sure.....I would do my own research because I am somewhat of a hack,...and I bought my stuff on amazon. I haven't put the wheels back on because I'm gonna let the red Loc-Tite set for 24 hrs. The total length of the stud was 61mm...shank is 44mm. They fit pretty well, with plenty of stud showing after the nut is put on, but 80mm would have protruded out a lot further if you like the racer look. When I get the wheels back on, I'll take a pic or 2. For whatever reason, the rears seem to seat a little farther back in the hub, so the studs look a little shorter. Finally got the front end buttoned up after finding shotty bondo caked rusted metal under it. Must have had a minor fender bender in the past and it wasn’t fixed correctly. Cleaned it out and welded it up. Later down the road if I decide to do a full paint restoration, I’ll do a perfect job and replace the spare tire holder area that has a not so good patch in it as well. But for now it will do the job and is protected from future rust. Just laid the paint down and now I can get back to what I was doing in the first place….putting driving lights behind the new 914 rubber grilles.

Completely available but gets tricky with the length of the stud. Need to make sure it matches on the exposed threads with the depth of the closed end lug nut.

Took the '73 for a longer shake down run after an engine swap. Ran great, no leaks, etc!

Ready for the next Strictly Air Cooled C&C in Scottsdale!!

Spent the weekend in Brittany, France, at the St Gouéno Master hillclimb. Didn't go quite to plan, but only real damage is to left front where the torsion bar mount has been pushed upwards, pulling in the inner wing (fender!).
After that initial impact, the car spun round but fortunately the rear only lightly impacted the banking, so exhaust and remote oil cooler survived unscathed.
Going on Celette jig when I get back from a brief trip to SoCal next week. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
