Car has been apart since the mid 80's .. So, some assembly required.
It is Tangerine.. The bike is a 79 CBX.. It has an aftermarket exhaust but because of the angle of the picture you can only see the mufflets on one side.. |

Since most of the other tubes were cut away leaving these two and the rear support
to hold it from folding I added a brace where the two come together in the middle. Finished till it gets welded to the header collector, then I’ll media blast it and it will get a coating. One less thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ![]() |

Great Pic!
Love that color against the dessert setting…perfect. Chrome bumpers look clean as well with that color. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) |

Thanks guys. Back bumper is original- I rechromed the front after taking off the tits and filling in the holes... like the clean look.

With the original intention of rolling my passenger rear fender, I ended up mounting my new tires and wheels. The fender "rolling tool" didn't fit my wheel studs in either pattern or size. Since they are now 14" wheels, I figured I'd just give it a shot. Long story short, I need to lower the car some, which I planned on doing anyways, but there aren't any clearance issues for now.
Some folks wanted to know how far the wheels studs protruded past the lug nut....about 3/8's of an inch on the rears and about 1/2 inch on the fronts. I was pretty pleased with the result, but I might have gone a little longer if I did it again. If you want a more "flush" look, you'd have to go shorter. These were 61mm studs with a 44mm shank. Here are some pics: ![]() ![]() |

Started separating my header tubes from the collector. Letting a little PB Blaster soak overnight to persuade separation. Thinking about sending them to Jet-Hot for some ceramic coating....they have seen better days.

Took the '73 to "Strictly Air Cooled" C&C in Scottsdale this AM. Pretty good turn out and 3 914's showed up. James Patrick parked his nice restomod next to me- it sounded great!!

Finally finished up the front end! Had to fix old previous shotty body work and repaint the front section. Refinished the bumpers and ground effects, and added LED driving lights. Took a few weeks, but finally done (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Man I didn’t think of that! But I do find it hard enough to get the phone around the steering wheel, watching traffic and take the picture!
