I was at NJMP on Friday and Saturday. Sorry I missed you. Number 3 came down from CT. but said the owner lives in PA. It is an original 914-6.

Bob, the 914 is looking good! A good friend just built a house across from Purgatory- wish I'd been visiting so I could catch your show...

But I did take the '73 out for a cruise this AM before it got too hot... oil temp stayed below 200!

Thanks. Lots of new construction up by the ski area, big and small. Glad you got some driving time, even in August. Just think, summer will be over in just 3 months!

Hope it goes smoothly. I've often contemplated repainting mine myself but chicken out every time.

Mine had gotten to the point where I could do no harm... I tested it all out on a door and it came out good, so I am going for it.

know that feeiing.
fought those bolts on my type 3 wagon on the side of the road back in my youth and every time i take the wheels off the 14 the memories come back. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
used to balance the wheel on my toes and try not to think about the car sliding off its crazy jack. in the end i bought a scissor jack for peace of mind and retaining my foot for later in life.

problem for me art is i cannot bear to get rid of those super high spec luxury fake plastic dome bolts adorning the once reviled star steelies. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) every time i take the 14 out these days i get harassed by beetle nuts who want to buy my wheels. for ludicrous sums of money. Thanks. I think we see a bit of Porsche family design genetics. And fun colors.

@wonkipop I throw nothing away. Sixteen bolts, sixteen 24k plastic covers will stay with the car for perpetuity if I have anything to do with it…. Along with any OEM parts that were removed, including the ragged original seat covers.
