First time out after the rebuild. Wet and slippery, but still fun at Wiscombe Park hillclimb...

Moving this past year to Georgia has brought some new opportunities for car shows , concours, autocross and the like. lots of regular car gatherings , some new shows and even as shown above a couple Peachstate PCA concours wins , the smaller second photo was this past weekend at The Savoy Museum in Cartersville Ga., our concours winners displayed for the Peachstate PCA at the show. amazing how the 914 has become a crowd favorite!

We were going to take my car to "Old Town" (Auburn) Cruise Nite yesterday. I cleaned her up and as I was checking all the lights, my car started to wink, non-stop at me. I thought the headlight needed adjustment so it would not hit the stop and keep going up and down. We're sitting there after I adjusted it, problem persisted. I was scratching my head and my brother says, "I thought those had a relay on each side?" I was like, "Wow, did not think about a relay". I opened up my took bag, grabbed a new relay, popped it in and what do you know? Fixed. I looked at my brother and said, "so you do pay attention." He just laughed. Then our buddy who was going to come up and go with us to Cruise Nite had a change of plans so we bailed and had a BBQ at home instead. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Put her on a weight loss program. BTW, if anyone knows a source of block off plates for any of the open holes created by deleting the fresh air system, please feel free to chime in.

So when I bought my 914 a year and a half ago, it didn’t have any pedal pads on the brake or clutch. I had trouble getting my wide ass foot in between the brake pedal and the center console to push the gas. Fast forward to now, and after adding new pedal pads, I cannot get my foot on the gas without pulling my foot back and pointing my toes down to squeeze in between the two. The center console is on top of the tunnel in the back so it can’t go over any further. After comparing my other 4 stick shift cars, I noticed that the set up in the 914 is extremely close to the gas pedal. I’ve been driving the car a lot the last few days trying to get the carbs tuned in after rebuilding the engine. It was such a struggle to drive trying to manipulate my foot each time I slowed down and then tried to re-apply the gas. So I took the pedal assembly back out of the car and chopped off the brake pedal, then moved it over just shy of 2 inches. What a difference! The car is actually a joy to drive now without having to think about my foot.
Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me and my duck feet…. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

Put the Pumpkin back up on jack stands, seems we have a brake fluid leak at the brake warning switch and hopeful don't have to pull tank.....again for fuel pump. Pump is making weird noises and is install under tank.

Maddog makes a block off kit. If you are running a type IV engine I make block off plates for the J tube holes.

I immortalized it...

On the wall of my office.

Some nice young gentleman took these photos after the vintage festival in Watkins Glen when we were up at the grist iron for dinner. Sent me the photos of John's car and mine at sunset overlooking Seneca lake.

Great turnout at the air-cooled get together in Scottsdale this AM. 2 914's and I think pretty much every early SWB 912 ever made...Attached Image

Hi Bruce is that a 968 boxster wheel ? will it fit up front in the well ? I have the spacesaver tire is a bit cracked on full inflation so if that tyre fits in there great solution for me.
Cheers.

Rebuilt one door stay. Yes fully inflated 968 16" spare fits in wheel well.

We drove to and showed in the Gathering Of The Faithful car show this morning. It was originally for just 356s, but they expanded it a few years ago to cover all air-cooled Porsches.

We had a total of 7 914s. Mine easily had the worst paint job there, and (maybe not so surprisingly) did not receive a trophy.
