Does getting the car out of the shop after 11 months count? Unfortunately, it has to go straight back in to the shop as I never was told the gray installed on the front end wrap would be swapped for this lighter shade (which I don't like - looks like primer!), the a/c blows cold when the car is stationary but not when it is being driven, and the trunk won't stay shut when I drove on the interstate back home... There are a few other things also, but at least it looks alright and happy with the result.

I'd say driving it home from the shop definitely counts. Picked up my '71-6 GT today after a full engine rebuild and various other stuff. It's been away for 9 months. A friend joined me in my 911 and we made a nice day of it. The 2.2 liter six is running strong. Lot's of case work, polished crank, E grind cams. It's plenty of motor for this light package. The exterior is pretty ratty, but I kinda like it that way. Next I'll add the sail panel trim and black vinyl. Spend some more useless hours trying to align the headlight buckets. But mostly just drive it before the salt of winter forces me to put it away.

Just moved my 914 to it's new home in Petoskey, just before snow and deer hunting season.

T. Y. Phil ! you can view a short vid of the engine start up at our instaGram @msds_inc
Also removing the old school Parker Hannifin boost adjuster, and replacing with an authentic Dampf-rad / "Steam -wheel" from an overseas manufacturer in Germany.

Temperature going into the 20s tonight in SW MA. Loaded my terrier wing man, "Badger", up for one last run. Then up on the lift to wait out the salt. Very happy with the quality of the engine rebuild (thanks Auto Associates). While not yet tickling red line, it's pulling very strong. I have some shifter adjustments to make (will these ever shift like a 901 911?), but the car is good for next spring.

I do not know what transmission you have. Tail shift: a short shift kit, or a shifter, proper adjustment and fresh bushings is all I was able to do to mine. Side shift: there is more that can be done. Tangerine racing makes a shift linkage kit that is a big upgrade ( link below). Some made our own kits. A short shift kit or a shifter to get the best out of it.

@morehills What a great looking car! I think I need to consider adding those wide fenders to my build! They look so good! Can I ask where you got them or how you had them done? If anyone knows or has any good resources I would appreciate it!
