No, it's actually just some dirt/oil mist gathered along the edge of the weld. I had to go and check - you got me worried! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

“I’m shaking it Boss” (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Just waiting on the needle paint.
Redid the white while I’m waiting. I’ll really be glad when it is back in its shell. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Let the needle dry and reassemble. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Next is the fuel gauge
But looking for an oil pressure module to put in so it may be a little bit.

Unbolted the battery ground, used wire wheel to remove rust/corrosion on the bolt, washer, and terminal. Coated in dielectric grease and re-assembled. Poor ground point connections in 914's are a significant source of voltage drops in the systems, clean them up from time to time.

12V LED strip lighting in the engine bay, piggybacked on the trunk light terminals. For those nighttime (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) moments.

Spent an hour or so cleaning up the underside and installing new floor pan air redirects. Simple install, and hopefully will have an added benefit.
I will be installing an external oil cooler with a fan, next weekend (or so)
It's always fun to work on the car, once you're in it. Sometimes getting the motivation to start is an issue but, it's always satisfying in the end.

Harvesting seat parts out of the 72 to put into Howard. A couple layers of self etching primer till I weld it in.

Howard is a 71 so it had the fixed passenger seat. Parts out of my 72. Some ugly welds but they will hold.

You could have painted the rack before installation?

Yes sir, it isn’t in the car anymore. That was the last fit with adjustment so it catches that hook. I lucked out and didn’t screw it up. lol Other one will come out today. I want to disassemble them but I am intimidated by that spring. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I’m sure there is a trick

My other half wanted to go camping for Valentines, so we drove up the coast to Ragged Point!

Attached Image

Stayed a night in the Ragged Point Inn (highly recommended) and camped a night at Hearst San Simeon Campground.

I can't wait to take HWY 1 all the way up to the bay, the small section we drove last weekend was magic. Hopefully it stays open (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hands.gif)
