Was able to get the engine back outside and fit the transmission to it with the neighbors help. Then shoehorned it back into the car. Hopefully get all the ancillaries connected this coming weekend and get it fired back up!

Installed Euro Taillight Lenses. Might take a while to get used to it. Looks really good. I had a Capri (German Ford) and it had very similar tail lights as did TR-6 and other imports. Not sure why U.S. 914s didn't have the Euro lights @Patrick_139 USA market TR-6 didn't actually have the euro tailights. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) but i can see why you might think they did. sure there was an amber indicator section in the talights but the end portions that wrapped around onto the sides of the rear fenders were a red section with a side marker bulb. the euro market cars had the amber indicator wrap around and no red section side marker. we got the euro market cars down here in aus as our lighting system was same as british regulation. also if you look at the front indicator lamps, they were all amber on the USA cars, the euro cars had a split unit that had a white section (parking lights). and the amber side marker on the USA cars was an amber indicator only on euro market (british). as a side note back then even the euro standards were not consistent. french cars had whole different lighting regs. as did italian. german standards were pretty much the same as british. by the early to mid 70s japan and australian regulations pretty much matched each other. not really sure why the TR-6 could have amber rear indicators in the USA when most USA cars were all red at rear. but they did. however its not a euro lens. close but different. the USA side marker requirements were quite particular to USA cars and really not shared with any other market in the world. |

Looks Great, tough act to follow.
Howard came to me a little, bent. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) The worst of it is obvious. ![]() In that pic you can see at the wheel a piece of wood and a cable. That is attached to a chain hoist that is attached to my tractor. That was how I got the rear suspension ear back in place. But while doing that the mount twisted and bent. Passenger and drivers side in pic. ![]() I could not leave it like that, so this is my solution. Bottom half is from the good people at Tangerine Racing, thank you Chris, and the top half is from doner car #2. And this is the end result. I have a few more little welds and a bunch of clean up but I will feel a lot better in a hard corner. Other side will get the Tangerine treatment also. ![]() |

Buttoned up the lower accessories today and got it fired up!!
Brought it up to full temp, and now I have 18lbs of oil pressure at Hot idle (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) It’s amazing that you can have good oil pressure when your crank isn’t .008 out of round…go figure. It’s been a long road, but I think I’ve finally turned the corner. Just have to tune the carbs a bit better and start putting some miles on her. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Wow an Orlando 914!
Didn’t know they existed. I’ve never seen one on the road down here. Where is the Octeenerfest fest at? @seanpaulmc |
