Had a 68' 911L back in 1989 or 1990? Love the SWB long nose 911's. The L engine was sweet, those cams were great for driving. Looks good, nice find Bob!

Yesterday I bought a set of 15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs for it, today I started it and took it out to get to temperature, tomorrow I take it to a wedding.

Hopefully Sunday I test fit the Fuchs with ancient 205/60s on them to see if I have clearance issues. Car has 7" rims and 195/50 tires on them with a wheel spacer and pulled fenders...we'll see if the 8s with a bigger tire will fit. Probably will still run 50 series when I get tires. Just want to trial fit them to see if it likes the 8s or if I need to buy a pair of 7s.

Drove it and had a great time. Didn't make the Julian run but still zipped around North San Diego county.
The new external oil cooler I put on it worked perfectly. Loved hearing the fan kicking on.

Removed passenger door latch and handle for a thorough cleaning and lubrication. Much smoother now. Time for the drivers side!

I’m working on the exhaust for the oil cooler and the math isn’t mathing. I’m using Ai and from what I have heard here Ai is right when it said the exhaust should be double the size of the intake. The intake is 3.5” X 19” which moves 2438.33 CFM at 60 mph. Based on that it should have a 7”X18” hole. I was going to cut out the frunk floor and louvre it and weld it back in. But if I put 28 3”X0.5” louvers it would only move 1540 CFM at 60 mph. I do not know how they do it, so I just cut a hole 7” X 15” and that will move 3987.5 CFM at 60 mph. Not optimal but it will work.

Template for the side walls of the duct is next. But summer is in town and it has been 100. So before I stroke out I will need to quit for the day.

im curious about this also @Shivers
i always assumed it was like a gaming PC where you want more positive pressure then negative. hence the louvres would be sufficient even if there is turbulence under the shroud. more air flow cooling the oil cooler....my guess

Hi: I don't know man, everywhere I look it is basically the same-

" Optimal Airflow Design: Use a dedicated scoop or duct (like a NACA duct) to pull air into the cooler, and ensure the exit allows air to leave freely, often aiming for the outlet to be 1.5 to 2 times the area of the inlet."

So I don't know but I live in a low desert where even the winters can be warm. It was 100 yesterday. I just went with my gut, made it 7"X15" and I added a lip in front of the hole to help the air escape.

What valence or air dam are you planning? Anything that reduces pressure below your air cooler outlet will help.

Hi: Thanks. I added a spoiler, example would be like what SirAndy put in front of his out of the hood oil cooler exhaust. It is camouflaged by dirt and burnt undercoating, but if you look close it is in front of the exhaust hole. It is hiding in the other pics.

What was the rear valence you swapped out and what did you do with it? Looking for something for mine to hide the muffler. Don't really care if is factory, steel, etc.
