Today I wrapped up a few last minute items and took it for the first shakedown run! Back on the road again, first time on the road since I pulled the motor in November for a rebuild.

I think I may be losing my mind.... I entered my car in the Sacramento Region PCA Concours on 6/7. I am now deep into cleaning and addressing a few little items that I have been ignoring. I don't think this is a full Concours; I think it is just exterior and maybe interior - not really sure. But I have done the whole bottom of the car, wheel wells, brakes, suspension, etc. Looks pretty nice IMO. Pulled the trunks apart and cleaned them. Dug out my tool kit and put it in the trunk. Tomorrow is engine bay and interior. I am going down the rabbit hole!

I absolutely love your car. Most Concours events have a list of what they go over and what they don't. Is there such a document for PCA? I thought about it with the C2. Unfortunately I abandoned that once I realized how pedantic Corvette guys are.

@TRP - Hi Ted - Thanks a lot. I am pretty sure they have a list of what they inspect. But my car needed a good going over anyway. It has approximately 18K on it since returning to the road and that takes a toll. I have entered it at Werks Reunion this year along with a couple other friends' cars, so this is a good head start on that prep. At this point it will be Greg,Todd, HB, Erik, maybe James and then me. We are hoping we will all be able to park together and have a fun day. You want to join us? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Michael

Ohh! Werks could be fun! Are you parking in the corral or are you guys 'being judged'? I could maybe park in the corral, however I have to be at Spanish Bay by 4pm that same day for a Pebble Beach Concours meeting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Got the wiring done, still waiting on the switch. Tomorrow I hope.
Setting it up so I can turn on the trunk light, which is my engine
bay light for checking oil or cleaning a jet.

Not dumb at all.Often enough that I'll be using two fuel filters. I made a tool I kept in the center console for loosening and poking out whatever schumtz was in there. Don't know where for sure that it is coming from. I'm replacing the fuel lines too. More often than not it is the drivers side carb. The light is also for checking the oil or pulling the oil rag out of the fan or the time the carb linkage end broke and I lashed it on good enough with a piece of wire I found on the road. Got it home. Most of this stuff happened on the way home from work...In the dark. And all I had for light was a lighter. Not this time around.

My brother and I attended the Sacramento PCA Concours at Sacramento Porsche today. I would guess 75-100 cars attended. I was blown away when the judges came to my car, 5 of them, and began going over everything. I thought it was just a exterior/interior...oh well. They've the engine compartment the eyeball and found a light spot of grease on an engine tin. Then I had items in my door pocket and glove box -that is a no-no. Overall I did OK and learned a lot. My brother and I think we will take the Judging class so I can learn more and also volunteer to be a judge in the future. MY brother has a very good eye for detail and I know he will be great at it.
